Overall, Ashita wa Docci Da! is really cute and I highly recommend it. tl;dr at the end. (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) enjoy
The synopsis is an accurate description of the story. The plot is interesting and original, however not enough that I would call it "refreshing". There's a good balance of funny scenes and really cute shounen- ai. The humor can sometimes come off as slightly cringey, but overall it's pretty good.
As for up to chapter 7, there's been no actual "yaoi" yet, if you know what I mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), but like a lot of Yamamoto Kotetsuko's other works, it'll probably be near the middle or end. Because of this I think it's good for people that don't normally read yaoi, as well as people who normally do.
As for the pacing, I think the plot is really well paced and flows really nicely, unlike a lot of other yaois I've read (something that I've found to be present in actually most of the mangaka works as well ;3).
Hell yes. The art is amazing and fits the story perfectly. It's shoujo-y but not completely, fitting the not too serious but not too lighthearted mood. If you've read any of Yamamoto Kotetsuko's other works, I'd say it's one of her better works.
I also think that the character expressions and panel layouts are especially are drawn really well, something that really helps to accentuate the story.
The characters I feel are pretty good. They're definitely better than average, however I wouldn't consider them the strong point of this series. Compared to other yaois, these characters are probably more unique. I did find Ken and his family particularly interesting, something that also helped to drive the plot and keep me engaged.
There's been steady character development so far. They're all pretty likable. Their character designs fit their characters like they should.
To be honest, it's hard to judge this part while still being helpful, since I personally really like Yamamoto Kotetsuko's general style. I personally enjoyed this a lot. It was interesting and really cute. I've reread it three times by now and it's still good, however I don't know if that says more about me than the series ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
tl;dr: plot is interesting, art is gorgeous in style, expressions, and layout, characters are pretty good and unique compared to other yaois, I personally really enjoyed it. I would give it a go even if you don't normally read yaoi
Also, the mangaka, Yamamoto Kotetsuko, is one of my favorite and I really recommend her other works as well (if you haven't noticed by now lol).
Thanks for reading this far! And I hope you enjoy it ヽ༼ ் ▽ ் ༽╯ read more
