Tells the story of the 17-year-old girl Mai-chan, who has the ability to quickly regenerate from injuries, no matter how severe. Working as a maid, she is also sold to a number of clients who can do whatever they wish to her, no matter how cruel or painful, just to satisfy their desire.
Mai-Chan's Daily Life - one of the most notorious erotic-grotesque (commonly abbreviated 'ero-guro', or simply just 'guro') manga series of all time. I will put this as a fair warning - this manga is not for the faint of heart. Now, onto the review.
Story (9/10)- Well, the story in and of itself isn't that good, but the premise of the main character - Mai, is. She cannot die. She is stuck in a whorehouse for wealthy loons and sexually humiliated and dismembered daily. Sounds run of the mill? Well, I guess maybe it is, but it is executed quite well. The whole 'she-can-never-die' thing really was done well in this series, and I have never seen it before. Really the plot/story don't matter because when you read guro you want to see two things; sex and gore. These both are present. Add a well executed 'super power' of sorts for the main character, and bam, you got a 9 out of 10 for the story.
Art (9/10)- Uziga Waita has always been a good artist, but in this manga he really shines. Everything is extremely detailed, but not to the point where you feel that you are being overwhelmed. For such a far-fetched story, the gore and sexual organs of the characters are actually portrayed rather realistically. Really my only complaint is that sometimes he shadded a bit too much and it made it hard to tell what he was drawing, but that only happens once or twice, and doesn't spoil anything.
Character (4/10)- Nothing special. Except for Mai-Chan, every other character is pretty much stock. Of all the girls in the manga, Mai-chan is the only one who actually managed to look hot. Not impressive for a guro manga. I guess it is about average in this field.
Enjoyment (9/10) - What can I say, I enjoy a good shock. This manga delievered some shocks. Oh, and did I mention that the final chapter is actually so shocking/awesome/famous that it has become a internet meme? Oh, well it has.
Overall (9/10) - Read this manga if you want to be shocked. Great guro. Classic. Read it now. Read it now. Stop reading my review and read it now.read more
Thanks to my having just discovered Guro two hours ago, I can now say that I doubt I'll ever be able to look at hentai the same way again. This manga is easily the most messed up thing I have ever had the misfortune to read. I curse my curiosity begging me to read on and finish this.
I'm usually really open to weird crazy fetishes. Bonding? sure why not. yuri/yaoi? Not my thing but whatever. Rape? Lolicon? Furry? Whatever, if somebody wants to wank to that stuff then go for it.
But this is where I have to draw the line. I am not at all okay with the idea of somebody looking at this manga and getting turned on. I hope I never ever meet a single one of those people in real life.
God dang, now I'm totally scared to ever take a vacation to Japan. The guy who drew this manga is there, along with a bunch of other dudes drawing other guro! read more
let's get some things out of the way first, yes, it's gruesome, gory, sick, perverted and pretty much fucked up in every conceivable way. now that that's clear, i can begin my review.
mai-chan is about about an immortal maid who is also a sex slave for people with extreme fetishes. she gets tortured, dismembered, decapitated, burned alive etc... and if you jack off to this, you should consider going into therapy. yet, despite all that, it has an extremely dark sense of humor and i did enjoy it.
you actually feel bad for mai chan. the characters are a bit bland but they do have a personality. i also have to compliment its originality. and this may be a spoiler(for a pretty much non existing story), but i loved the ending, it was satisfying as all hell. although a lot of people stop reading just before that because the part before that just goes way too far for a lot of people. and honestly, i also stopped there because it was making me nauseous. but i had to finish it(now you're at least prepared). and i was not disappointed. so before reviewing it, please read the whole thing.
conclusion: if you can handle things like a A serbian film and Salo, i will recommend this one. if you can't, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS MANGA.read more
Okay... I've put this manga in my "completes" list, but I actually dropped it at the last chapter because... what can I say? I am used to fucked up manga but THIS manga has the MOST fucked up scene ever.
This is the BEAUTIFUL AND INNOCENT story of a maid who can't die so she's a sex slave on a whorehouse for crazy ass motherfuckers who should go to a fucking prison for life because they enjoy hurting and torturing her WHILE rapping her. And torturing not like the 50 Shades of Grey bastard. I mean BURNING HER TO DEATH. CUTTING HER FUCKING HEAD OFF. WHILE. RAPPING. HER. Yeah, I was aware of what ero-guro was, and even with the disturbing shit that happened in this manga I kept reading it BUT I stopped at ONE GODDAMN PART WHERE I DREW THE LINE AND SAID NOOOOOOPE FUCK THIS SHIT I'M OUT
In the moment I saw the baby fuck part I just couldn't take it anymore. I am disgusted and scared just by knowing that there is someone who drawled this manga, someone who edited this manga and someone who thought it would be a good idea to publish it and even make a FUCKING MOVIE of it. But I know that the most disturbing fact is that there are people who MASTURBATE to this. Get excited. HOW. WHY. You guys should go to a madhouse, go find yourselves a psychiatrist.
I read this piece of nightmare out of curiosity, I watch videos of a guy named Joey (TheAnimeMan) on YouTube. I thought OH I've already watched some fucked up hentais out of curiosity (Euphoria and Bible Black) so WHY THE FUCK NOT READ MAI-CHAN'S DAILY LIFE somebody please slap my 2 hours ago self in the face.
And now speaking about the protagonist, Mai-chan... I kinda like her. She's a cinnamon roll who didn't deserved all the shit that happened to her.
Well, this manga overall accomplished it's goal. I mean, It portraited pretty well the "she can't die" thing, so I would give it more points bUT THE FREAKING BABY SCENE read more
