Three years ago a Hero sealed a hell gate, but the Seal has been weakening ever since, sporadically letting monsters through. After a big group of monsters entered the country through a hell gate, the profession of heroes was needed again.

Touka Scott, a small radish farmer in the southern town of Cheza, is prepared for sudden monster attacks. He built himself a hidden pit trap with bamboo spikes, to lure unsuspecting monsters in if they ever try to attack the village. Suddenly a monster attacks. Touka tries to lure it into the trap with freshly roasted bacon, but the monster dislikes this type of meat. Thankfully the local hero saves the village from the monster in the nick of time. The hungry hero tries to grab a bite of bacon after vanquishing the monster, only to stumble into Touka's pit trap and Die.

After causing the local hero's death, Touka is forced to take matters into his own hands to protect the region from attacking monsters.

Leave it to the sleazy villager to kill mankind's last hope! I'll make this short, a bit-sized review of sorts, just to get the main aspects of this work. After all, we MAL users are busy people!

+ Fantastic premise
+ Successfully makes fun of fundamental fantasy anime tropes
+ Has a plot that successfully guides the comedy into interesting directions
+ Utilizes extra 4-komas to both fill out parts of the plot and provide more laughs
- Suffers from unevening pacing, sometimes skimming over character development to get to the next punchline
- Starts off slow
- Not all the jokes hit
- Can get a tad too repetitive

+ Ecchi illustrations are read more

The story has a great sense of humor, with some twisted scenes of action. As the name suggests, the hero is dead, and the one who killed him has to take the responsibilities that were originally the hero's. The protagonist in the story isn't very strong, and doesn't have much fighting experience, but that's what makes the story even more interesting.
The art is great, with frequent colored fan service of the various female characters in the story after almost every chapter.
It's also quite a well balanced story which is based more on the humor than the action and fights, with the main characters as read more

wtf.... it's so funny as hell. I'm just curious how this series get slipped from my radar hehe . Read and you can feel the same fun like Konosuba. It's ecchi but it's okay because it's so interesting.

For me the story is good. It's start in some weird situation but it's where the enjoyment come. The elbania arc is quite long but it's paid with great side story haha. 8

The art is good i guess. Such a shame if this great art is just used for something with no plot just ecchi. Come on! 9

The character is very good. The MC is pervert and read more

The impression that the few first chapters could give an unsettling and bad view of the manga. Almost had the urge to drop it in the beginning but the plot was getting more interesting so decided not to miss out.

Chapter 1 might be a bit underwhelming but as the story progresses further, everything from the beginning makes a whole lot more sense. Honestly, who wouldn't get turned of by someone sticking a knee sock onto radishes.

Story: 9/10

Our main, Touka Scott is just a normal farmer with no abilities, living his farmer days growing radishes in his town. Besides growing radishes, he also has a read more
