I really liked the first (and title) story, about Soutarou and Satoi, but the other stories I wasn't particularly fond of.
The second story (Yowamushi Kareshi to Rokudenashi) was really confusing to me. There was an amusing part where one character showed his friends the secret sex tape he'd made with his boyfriend, but other than that it was kind of confusing and generally I didn't think it was that good.
The third story (Kimi to Boku de Chouchou Musubi o) was kind of... disturbing. The main character in it was really creepy. Though he gets bonus points for looking like Kise Ryouta.
story, (Usotsuki to Happy End o) was okay at first. I didn't mind it but then right at the end there was a twist that just kind of ruined it for me. It was also quite creepy and disturbing.
So overall, I think it was a bit of a miss, though I do recommend the first story.
One of my best yaoi mangas .
Besides the attractif drawing style of this manga (no need to talk, it is epic) , the main story (ch 1-2 , 6-10 ) is one the bests yaoi storys . It makes you enjoy it till end , but for the others storys in that manga , it was too bad especially the Yowamushi Kareshi to Rokudenashi , it was very bad , specially when I was thinking that the manga has one story , the same thing for others .
The main story Nise x Koi Boyfriend has diferrent atmosphere from others yaoi
manga , it starts with a weird story about lame guy ( manga & anime geek ) , who admired to be hero , he has no relations in school , and a day when he return to home and find a girl in front of his house door , she was in reality a guy classmate , but the geek didn't recognize him , and they start a frienship relation close to love , but after that he gets bullied by the crossdressing guy ( As he think cause he dont know he was the girl he met last day )
At general it is very good choice for yaoi beginners .
I totally love the art style. The characters are all pretty and cute-looking. The stories are quite short which sadly doesn't allow a lot of character development but I still felt like there was some thought put into them. Most of the characters seem like little steamed buns filled with joy and charm. (The story-length was actually to my personal liking. Sometimes I just need to be able to relax and the fact that the stories are so short takes away the room for complexity.)
The first and main story was adorable. I utterly enjoyed it although it was an emotional rollercoaster. I ended up swaying
between laughter and facepalms because of the main character's 'density' but I still adored him.
I enjoyed the second and third stories too. Both of them had their 'flaws' (things that weren't to my personal liking) but they made me happy in the end and that's what matters to me when I read cutesy stuff.
All together I would give this work a 8 or even 9 out of 10 at this point.
But...the final story...oh boy. I don't mind twists. I actually really enjoy them. Even the 'disturbing' ones. But what really bothered me here was the main character's reaction. It made me think there was something truly messed up about him and since we don't learn a lot about his past it just seemed so random.
Nise x Koi Boyfriend is a manga with an additional 4 stories which are unrelated to the main story of course.
I won't be touching the other 4 stories because it didn't piqued my interest unlike the main story. However, need I describe it in short, it's basically "intense physical education". While there is some back story to it, I think it'll suit those who have more of an interest in the physical education than the actual story itself.
Moving on to the main story, it was definitely a blast! There are surprises here and there on as the MCs carry on with their daily life.
Though, the best part for me was that the gender bender theme being presented in a different light in comparison to the usual ones. In addition, while the character development are focused on the MCs, the side characters too are given enough exposure that they don't felt obsolete. As for the art, it's overall pretty good especially when it comes to the facial expressions.
Should you read this? Yes, totally!
(This is coming from someone who reads a yaoi manga for the first time)
