Synopsis

Tarou Kajiura and his friends from the same folkloristic research group at Tonan University went on a trip to Ikishima island in order to pursue the origins of the myth about princess Kwannon. At the same time the villagers of Ikishima were holding the annual festival in which outsiders were forbidden to participate in since 400 years. The consequences for breaking that rule were more severe that anyone had imagined...

Since this is the first review on this manga, I thought I'd introduce you, the potential reader, to its theme, tone and mood rather than focusing on specific areas and critiquing them.
The manga begins in a modern day setting where a group of college students are led by their classmate to the island she comes from. Now of course, this island is not what it looks like, with the sidelong glances of the hosts and the simmering mood that is present. This mood culminates in a hunt for "intruderss" (the college students) who are not allowed to witness the "ceremony" of the island. I'll read more

The first chapter seemed interesting, and it seemed like the MC was going to find a way to escape the island or get revenge. However, after a few chapters it turned into an only Ecchi plot with some hints of the real story. The story then was made to fit sex scenes into the series. This manga should have been better made into a hentai.
I have noticed this since I began reading manga or light novels, but it seems like if the main characters gets betrayed by someone close to them. The MC will read more

It might contain a bit spoilers.

I started this manga because of its horror and mystery genre. I thought this story was about the fight between the villagers and the outsiders. However, it was completely different in an interesting way.

Leaving the sexual substance or service aside, the mystery in the story is actually fascinating. The MC developed from being a normal to special thank to the darkness of the island itself.

That's why I give it 8/10 because the art is being drawn very beautifully and the story hasn't finished so it's too early to judge the plot.
