Haru Jigokumeguri is the eldest daughter of a highly successful businessman, gifted with both intelligence and beauty. Kawayanagi Tsurezure is an eccentric boy who dresses in 20th century fashion and has a habit of gazing up at clouds for hours on end. Haru is prideful, arrogant, and egocentric, while Kawayanagi is unable to strike even the most basic of conversations. These shortcomings lead them to be shunned by the rest of their classmates, and so the two gravitate towards one another.
The lonely classmates find a mutual friend in Akane Tendou, a jolly girl who finds pleasure in seeing them together. Now, with their confidence restored, Haru and Kawayanagi embark on a journey towards bettering themselves.
Before you start reading this review or the manga, note this: This is one of the hidden gems in the world of anime/manga.
The humor, the story development and the character development combines so nicely that it deserves an anime.
The MC seems like a nobody at first glance, but like most manga, he does have qualities befitting of a MC, yet still relate-able to real society.
While you could probably already guessed that the main heroine is a tsundere, she isn't just any stereotypical tsundere you see in some harem story. In fact, this manga isn't stereotypical at all, it is cleverly structured as 4-koma but you
can still progress with the plot very closely, and it has some serious moments too. Don't see that very often in 4-komas, yet it is still lovable.
This manga deserves recognition, while the art isn't top quality, the mainstream romcom authors can learn a thing or two from this beautifully made serie.
I can describe this manga in two words…amazingly original! The story may seem a bit simple but trust me this story is a little more complex than it seems…so much that I think it deserves an anime.
The story as I stated above seems like your simple average romance between some quite emotionless guy and the loud and arrogant girl at a glance. In all reality though it goes far beyond that it starts experimenting and combining the characters traits together to make a really great and refreshing story. You will find yourself loving all of the characters. Some parts even get deeper and more serious
in some chapters which are balanced out with some romance and silly moments. All in all the story is a big plus in my book.
The art is really simple if you want me to be completely honest, but the thing is in this case the author manages to make simple art really pop out and grab your heartstrings after every page. In other words I think the art fits perfectly well with the story that's being portrayed even so much that I think I wouldn't mind seeing it in anime form.
Like I said before the characters are all great. Many of them have their own unique character traits that really show you who they are.
I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every moment of this manga there was never a second of boredom as I was reading it.
One last thing I would like to mention is that this is only one out of many manga I have read that I can honestly say that I had to read over and over again. I'm reading this a third time now and the only time I ever read a manga over like this was when I read this other manga called Beast Master (Which you should check out by the way.) I think this manga is well worth all your time.
I'll be quick: The characters are interesting, the story progresses smoothly and kept my interest throughout so far, i love the art style, and the way it breaks some clichés just brought a big smile to my face.
Some other similar mangá are Mousou Telepathy, Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko, Nagatoro-san, Kuzumi-kun wa Itsumo, Aharen san wa Hakarenai, and other mangá by the same author such as Dragon Maid (Though this one is pretty much lewd free so far). The thing with this series is the Ojou type main character, and i love that the creator puts a lot of efford in her character construction
It's a fun, quick
read that deserves a chance if you are into romance, comedy, and/or 4koma mangá.
