I had never heard of the children's book Miyazaki talks about in this, but now I really want to! His meeting with the author was extremely interesting as well, seeing a japanese and british person, both of whom were children during the second world war and felt animosity towards the military in general was very interesting. It's also fully in colour, and it's gorgeous. I assume it's watercolour, at least it's not digital and it looks gorgeous. A lot of digital comics colouring don't look good at all because of how flat it feels, with one strong colour per part. There's no dynamism or movement ... there, it's static and boring, which this avoids.

There's also Miyazaki's wonderful plane illustrations, which both make you consider the relationship between the beauty of drawn machinery and the horror of their real life counterpart. This isn't The Wind Rises, but it does give some insight into the same theme. But yes, if you liked the planes in Nausicaa and Conan you'll have more eye candy to feast on here. The character art is also very funny, so overall this is definitely worth a read as it's only 24 pages.
