I read this book in the span of a few days, and judging from the reviews , I knew it would be a tearjerker, but when I actually read it...let's say I wasn't prepared enough...Beautiful art, character development and definitely story!
I gave it an 8/10 not because the art was lacking, but because the only art in the entire book was the cover and 2 pages (a 15 year later page and the epilogue page). The cover art is really pretty, but the lack of art makes me have to give it a 8 (just to be fair to the other books that have similar
level art but more illustration pages).
There are four main characters featured in the book, and initially I though one of them was favored more than the others, but as the story developed, I got to really see the depth in each character's personality, growth, etc. so I had to give it a 10
Although the book is very good, I had to give this enjoyment a 9/10 as there were bits of the story I couldn't really get into at the time I was reading it. Although those sections later linked to bigger events in the final outcome, those sections made be stick with the 9.
Honestly, the story was the most interesting I had read in a while. The story made me cry in the middle book, with a scene that made me feel like the story was actually ending soon, and then the story calmed down a bit, only to pick back up at the end with a pretty intense tear jerking scene...Anyhow, the story was the best part for me, and it was well written, so easily a ten for me.
