This is easily among my favourite manga, for the simple reason its so unique. The manga flips through Pseudo-Mystery genre, humour, almost-horror, Crime, action and pretty much everything else so much it should feel schizophrenic, but instead works perfectly. The most prominent genre is really Psychological. The capture of criminals is often less about discovering how they did the crime as much as it is their motivations for doing so.
Perhaps the best part of this manga is the characters however. From the main characters to even the very most minor, there is not one whom is completely undeveloped. Everyone feels very real and Human (or

When I first saw the manga art for this series, I was very very turned off. It seemed very amateur at best. Although the monster images are very detailed and gorgeous, the mangaka doesn't appear to have his human anatomy drawing skills quite down...
But then one day, just cause I was bored, I picked it up and started reading. And WOW, it's addicting. I couldn't stop. And the art, as with every other mangaka, gets better. I'm not a typical shonen dectective type manga lover either...actually the hate the "monster of the week" type anime and manga, but I found this one to be really good. Definitely ... Mar 28, 2010
-INTRODUCTION-
After finishing the great anime adaptation, I found myself craving for more mysteries, more of the clever humor, and of course, more Neuro. I hesitated at first because of the artwork. In fact, I spent the first few chapters complaining about it. But before I knew it, I got completely sucked in and ended up reading most of this manga in a marathon. -STORY- 10/10 The manga mostly consists of short cases. And although the criminal is usually made obvious to the reader, the process of deduction and explanation is still exciting. This is the kind of mystery series where the author focuses on the "How" and ... Jul 18, 2008
I find it much better than the anime , Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro is a psychological , mystery manga and more into detection , what I liked about it that it gave Neuro the scary but yet quirky and funny characteristics , if you liked the anime and you want to get more details into the storyline or if you like detective games and solving puzzles ( and you like FOOD ) i recommend this for you .

Imagine a magician appears to levitate and pull rabbits out of his ass. Now imagine he explains the trick in full detail to kill off any potential mystery. The result is basically this manga.
To be perfectly blunt, this manga was mediocre at best. I'm sure I'll get lots of "not helpfuls", but c'mon, let's be reasonable here! It's a "psychological mystery" manga that basically has nothing mysterious or interesting about it. Neuro solves every mystery the moment it begins. See, psychological stories are interesting because they leave you on the edge of your seat guessing what's gonna happen next. However, in this manga, you ... Feb 9, 2009
WARNING: To be upfront, if your expecting a detective series where the clues are upfront and you can find them, this is not the series for you. One has to go into this series not expecting the same format as Detective Conan, Ayatsuri Sakon or even Spiral. Most of the time, the clues aren't very visable as Nero has to analyze certain things to get key clues to the mystery.
Story The story is great, however... not what I was personally looking for. I was looking for something that was more brain stimulating... that I could say... oh yes, I get how this and this works. ... Mar 21, 2009
Preface: I started watching Anime, 2 eps but it never took my attention and I simply didn't continue. It might have been the mood of the moment, so I don't blame anyone but myself.
Recently I have stumbled upon the Manga, and to my surprise. It captured me quickly and didn't let go, until I read up to last chapter. The chemistry between Neuro and Yako is true masterpiece. As well as whole mood and art flow. Katsuragi Yako: She quickly became one of my top favorite Manga characters of all time. She simply has all the qualities that pull you in. Funny, quirky, huge appetite(for some reason ... Apr 2, 2018
This manga is something exceptional. It surely isn't for everyone, as it's humor is pretty weird and the story is just erratic. However, if you stick with it, you'll realize it's actually great.
Story-wise, it's weird, honestly. The manga is basically all of the genres; it ranges from comedy to even horror (!) and psychological thriller sometimes. However, it handles each part so splendidly that you won't notice the conversion from funny and weird to serious and unsettling. Yuusei Matsui really did a great job. Also, it does cover many mental states via the villains and several characters. And it does that pretty nicely. Other than ... Aug 19, 2010
Main conclusion: not brilliant, but certainly a good read.
story; A girl (Yako) whoes father was murdered comes across a deamon (yes, it is consequently spelled as deamon) aka Neuro that solves the 'riddle' of this unsolved case. Neuro feeds on riddles and he wants to eat riddles from the human world. He uses Yako to navigate through human society and makes Yako a famous detective. Her role within their detective agency is mainly to smile friendly and keep close contacts with the police. The first 60 chapters are short stories. Of course there is a big villain (X), but he's in the background. The short stories are ... Apr 3, 2009
This manga is very good, but it has one flaw; and that was actually starting to read the manga. I know that, for myself, staying with the manga after the first few chapters was very hard, in fact i put it aside numerous times.
When Neuro obtains the office is where the story gets interesting (so stick with it until then), after that you are gripped by suspense and witness many clever ways of killing a person, the science behind the puzzle become very complicated and intriguing later on. The only OTHER bad side of this manga is that some adored supporting characters will die ... Jun 27, 2016
I don’t know what to make of this manga really. At first, I thought this would be like Ghost Sweeper Mikami where there would be a main character that would get pleasure in making the other character suffer. At times it’s fun and comical in an almost satanic way. I’m not sure if it’s the translation that I read or how the manga really is written so it’s hard to say but the story got very complicated after a while. Trust me when I say you will get confused, you will get lied to, and you will go ‘What the fuck?’ while reading this. You
