I don't have right words to describe this manga. It's basically a sexual abuse story. If I had to name what I felt reading it, for sure was rage. How can I enjoy one person being raped again and again? It was heartbreaking. Well...
Story - First, it has no story. It's just smut all the time, the uke being raped and crying that was scared...
Art - Not awesome, but ok. Nothing outstanding.
Character - Hiroi is disgusting, manipulator, rapist... Sincerelly, I read it until the end expecting him to suffer. Takeshi have no opinion 95% of the time. When it was ending he showed some
expressions, ok. Minegishi is a poor thing. He's really cute but I just feel sorry for him.
Enjoyment - Minegishi cute face is the only good point. I felt like throwing garbage into my throat each new page I read. Pretty disappointed because the score is really high. I expected a lot more.
I just read a forum post about this Manga and since I like `Choco Strawberry Vanilla´ a lot, I decided to write a review. Here goes:
First of all: This Manga is not for everyone! It's SMUT (pretty intense sex scenes) in a THREESOME.
That said, what is so great about it? Well, I loved the twisted relationships between the characters. I never read any story or watched anything that had a friendship similar to the one described in this Manga. And I never expected something like this in a short yaoi.
Two more good points about `Choco Strawberry Vanilla´: The art is great (I think
that is something most people would agree on) and it's quite hot (that's something where tastes can be very different, but I liked that the uke is non-girly, that it is not all lovey-dovey and that it is so twisted).
You could say that there is no story, but I think there is quite a development in the relationship.
(If you are interested the `story´ goes on as one of the short stories in Psyche's "Psychedelics")
Okay so I saw that this Manga didn't have much reviews...I actually only saw one and was quite disappointed because I loved this so much. It was a bit sad that there wasn't much to the story, and that it was such a short manga, but it was pretty good. Firstly there isn't much to the story, it's just about three guys coming together, you can take that any way you want (lol). It is 100% smut, but it shows things inbetween the lines. I liked the twisted relationship they had with one another, and how it worked. All characters were perfect for one another,
and without each of them the relationship most likely would have died. The three are in a Polyamory relationship, and it shows that those relationships too can last. I don't really know, I wasn't really into such things until reading this manga. It just has it's own little charms and it spoke to me. Not to mention the manga artist did a fabulous job. (I cannot read manga that doesn't have art that is appealing to my eyes). So yeah that's the end. :3 Hope you will give it a read because it's worth the read.
Although nothing else needs to be said, I'll throw in an actual review and re-read purely for research purposes xD
Overall I find it a masterpiece.
I like this very much because:
-I expect smut from something smut and I actually got it.
-They jump into it! None of that chapters of dilly dally with like 2 frames of implied intercourse after all of that nonsense.
-And I actually know what's going on. I know what's going in his mouth and at what angle, I even know how many fingers are going in. And when a little bit
spilled out when he woke up. 10/10. After so many I've read, this is the first time I've seen it mentioned. Now that is some thorough research.
-And I really appreciate the sexy nipples and the leg hair. It doesn't feel uncomfortably illegal like with other art styles. And the lack of yaoi hands! I always found those hands ridiculous. The art style is shoujo bishounen quality. I have a crush on all 3 of them! 3!!!
-And I like the simple setting, "we like doing it and we're young and we have time because we're college-aged bishounen." (I just came from reading one where a school doctor accidentally slept with a very rich, high school aged boy from the middle east who also happened to already have finished medical school. Bonkers.)
-There are also back stories that are introduced at a good pace and order. In my opinion, the mangaka handles the theme of jealousy really well. Things get messy with physical relationships and each character's issue with it was atleast acknowledged.
Keep in mind that this is a review of smut compared to other smut. And that I also have no problems with threesomes. There's no point wishing this isn't a threesome as this manga's whole existence is based on that fact. There's plenty of non-threesomes already, just go there instead if it bothers you.
To everybody else: Happy reading, folks! Lock the doors and keep innocent tabs open just in case.
