Ah I'm not good with reviews but there's none on this page, so I figured why not..
Story - 9. Just a simple 13 page story about a girl who reminisces about her favorite bread shop and how it helped her throughout her life. Matsuri Hino went back to her comedic ways in this one-shot and it made this story a really cute one.

Art - 8. There wasn't so much detail in the art in Watashi to Fukigen na ... Panya-san when compared to some of the volumes of Vampire Knight. None the less, the art was still good.

Character - 8. The only reason I'm giving this a 8 is because the story was only 13 pages long. You can't really do any character development with such a short manga, but considering how short it was, she did a very good job.

Enjoyment - 9. I really thought this was an adorable manga and I really wish that it would have been a bit longer. Then again, I really enjoy Matsuri Hino's work.

I picked up Vampire Knight believing that it might be an interesting vampire story and I like seeing the different takes on an otherwise old subject.

I will start off with the negative simply because I feel as though this must be said, or expressed:

What it boils down to is that Vampire Knight is a highly, highly confusing manga. In the beginning, as many people have experienced, Vampire Knight was rather simple in terms of plot and scenarios. As time went on, however, questions were being answered but - in the process - more questions were being asked. However, as time went on the facts and ... situations started to become more confusing, more jumbled and less organized.

The further into the manga I went the less I started to understand - it got to the point where I actually needed to look up the volume summaries after I read them, simply to understand what it was that I had just read.

It is very hard to understand who is speaking and to whom, and where they are, and what is going on. I found that the lines between arcs were blurred to the point where I thought that the first arc was 9 volumes long when in reality apparently several arcs had occurred in that time.

I think that this confusion stems from the fact that the art, while beautiful (graceful, lovely, etc.), is drawn in such a way that oftentimes completely obscures the characters' actions, especially in intense fight scenes where you can't tell who hit whom or who did the hitting, or anything of the ilk. It skips to scenes without explaining where you are and, admittedly, a few of the characters look similar and so it's hard to tell the difference between them. Even on volume 13 I have a hard time telling several of the characters apart.

Finally, I find that the output of information is slow, as I touched upon earlier. More questions are asked than answered, and it takes a very long time for most questions to be answered, if they are answered at all. I believe the manga could be improved tenfold only if we aren't made to wait so long just to receive information that could invest us a little more. Suspense is nice but if you have to wait too long to figure something out, oftentimes the wait can sever your interest rather than enhance it.

Having said all of that, I do believe I've made the manga sound AWFUL and I didn't mean to do that. I don't think it's an awful manga at all - I think it's good; iit's a good manga if you want to read something to turn your mind off. Yes, it's confusing and it will make you think but it isn't terrible.

The characters are all different, even though I wouldn't say that any of them are particularly wonderful (I see a lot of Sue-ish things going on, especially in the character of Yuuki). However, the art is wonderful, the story was good (not great), and I would suggest it for people who are wanting a quick read.

Vampire Knight was the second manga I ever read. At that point I wasn't really familiar with the whole Shoujo genre, so I didn't realize that most of the other Shoujo stuff is boring love story crap. Still, for a shoujo, Vampire Knight was a lot better.

STORY: 5
The story starts off with the cool idea of vampires and humans coexisting, and the first two or three books aren't bad. Sorry, this spoiler is unavoidable but I have to say that from the time Yuki gets her memories back and onward, the manga sucks so badly I wondered why I was even reading it. As ... of the plot twists and such, they are so predictable that I could just stamp a "thank you for that, captain obvious" sticker half way through the first book, not even, more like one third into it. That was let down, but at least it's better than Twilight, which has no storyline at all except for an angsty teenager and her vampire boyfriend (hey, I swear I've heard this somewhere before). :P Sorry for that, I really dislike Twilight. Anyway, to reiterate, the father you read in, the more demented and hard to follow the plot becomes. Books eight through thirteen were full of so much pointless fluff that it could have been condensed into one book.

ART: 6
Like all shoujo mangas, guys tend to look like girls, and the eyes are way to huge. Not just like regular manga big, I mean flipping ENORMOUS. Also, apparently the vampires' eyes glow red when they desire blood. the artist didn't manage to get that point across at all. The author had to point it out before I actually noticed it. I like the creativity for the uniforms though. That was basically the only thing I was impressed with. The backgrounds are good when there are any, and though I have said I don't really pay attention to backgrounds, I have felt more confused about where characters are in Vampire Knight than in basically every other manga that I've read. To me, all shoujo art looks the same, so there isn't really any uniqueness to it.

CHARACTERS: 4
Zero is the tortured teen with the bad past. Haven't we all heard this before? "Yuki I wanted you to stay away from me because I didn't want to hurt you." It's nothing new. Isn't that like every single Vampire romance thing out now? The guy is mysterious and emo, and the girl is the ray of light for his salvation, but he had it ripped away from him because she's torn between two loves, and of course she's only considered her childhood friend and friend. This isn't the mild, appealing cliché that's mixed with new ideas, it's basically a lack of creativity. The only one who has any kind of depth is...actually wait, I can't think of anyone. As you've probably noticed, this review contains 100x more bias than all my other ones. Oops, but I can't help venting because Vampire Knight showed at least some promise, but now it's just assing around. Disappointment. D:

ENJOYMENT: 5
Vampire Knight really let me down, and I probably would have been better off not reading it. It would have spared me and extra week of my life I could have used to do other things, but I was basically only reading it because I thought Zero was kind of cool, and then the author turns around and goes LOL nope! DX He's an emo! Anyway, it didn't hold my attention.

OVERALL: 5
It is far from the best manga I've read, but, if you love the tortured vampire and his love who doesn't love him back type shit, then trust me, you will drool over Vampire Knight.

When i first began to read this manga i really got into it you know? with the lovable characters and the cute crush that yuuki has for kaname and how zero reacts but as you got farther into the series it just got confusing and abit boring but if you re-read the pages you dont get accouple times you should be fine and personally even though it was wierd at first i still suggest you read it because its alot different from the anime so if you liked the anime you will love the manga thanks hope you enjoy vampire knight!

I've read upto the current chapter (74) And i honestly think this is the best manga in the entire world! The art work is beautiful and very detailed, and the story will drag you in, you'll be glued to it forever. You never know whats going to happen next, it's not very pedictable which is good so it can keep you guessing. This is definitly not your typical vampire manga! Very funny at times. Vampire knight will make you laugh, and cry, and just about everything else xD

Art: 10 absolutely fantastic.
Character: 9 good character development you learn more about them as the manga ... goes on.

This is going to be short and sweet as it has been so long since it has been so long since I read it but I decided to write a review.
When I first got into manga and anime I thought this was great. But after reading other manga of the same type of genre and thinking back to it, some areas in the plot or characters made no sense whats so ever and felt out of character, in order to keep certain shipper happy. Along with just some areas being so cliche; to the point that twilight may have been a better love story.

Kaname is the class president of the Night Class, both feared and respected by the other Night Class students.
While he is cold and authoritative towards his contemporaries in the Night Class, he is always kind and sweet to Yuki. He has shown that he cares deeply for Yuki ever since he saved her, and loves her in a romantic sense. Kaname also asked Yuki to become a vampire and live with him for all eternity by his side, but manages to stop himself from biting her. He is both jealous and angry with Zero for biting Yuki and endangering her life.
He also seems ... to know the pureblood who bit Zero, Shizuka, and kill her before drinking her blood to protect Yuki, in spite of it being a terrible taboo. Kaname was the ancestor of Kuran and was resurrected by Rido from the grave, thus making him unable to kill Rido. Plus he even let Zero drink his blood so Zero can live for much longer to protect Yuuki.

I have absolutely no clue why this is rated so low? I LOVED the manga! Anime? not so much. Vampire knight is beautiful crafted by the hands of Matsuri Hino, she put LOTS of thought into creating this manga. It has a depth and background that other manga's lack.

I feel this manga should be a 10 because, Matsuri-san keeps you wanting more, you never get bored of reading VK. Her art is amazing, the characters are well developed and you feel there emotions. I thought Matsuri-san really had good foreshadowing as well. Overall, I believe this should have a higher score because, the people ... who rate it bellow 6 haven't read up to the latest chapter (obviously).

I really enjoyed this manga. And It started my craze of vampires. What I love about it is that it isn`t that cliche vampire. Now, they have powers, there`s a system, you can be born a vampire, and it`s very different when you get `turned` into a vampire. I LOVED the story line. Very intriguing, and good plot twists. Characters were a bit..... the same. Most of them have a two sided thing going on. IE, kaname. He seems very gentle and mysterious, but he`s usually cold to others. (Yuuki being the exception) The art is great! Very detailed, and all the characters are drawn ... well.
Overall, I give it a 9, not the best manga, but one of the best. I recommend reading this manga, if you love vampires, plot twists, love triangles, and alot of debating fangirls. =D

The artwork in this manga is consistently beautiful. The backgrounds are detailed, the action scenes are easy to understand and the side characters have individuality. The mangaka also does a great job of allowing the artwork to tell the story rather than relying on excessive dialogue.

Though most of the characters have a hint of cliche, their development and their personalities are interesting. Even though I've seen their "types" in other manga, it was easy for me to fall in love with Aidou and Zero because of their stories and presentation.

Unfortunately, as the manga progresses you'll see that the characters' personalities are greatly affected ... by the manga's change in tone and plot. Normally, this type of development is welcome. However, because the story becomes so convoluted and unfocused, the characters suffer as well.

I rate it at a 7 because the art is wonderful and the first story arc is enjoyable. I only continued reading after the first arc because I felt obligated. Overall, it isn't terrible but after reading the first story line you expect more than what you receive. So be warned that the end of this manga isn't nearly as good as the beginning.

As other people said, the first part of the story is great. But after that, it just gets really tedious and you don't really understand exactly what's going on. And yes, Yuki never really changes, and don't believe that Kaname even really loved her. You don't get the kind of ending you would hope for. For the last good portion of the manga Zero practically ignores Yuki while still loving her. I don't think you know who the villain is toward the end of the series. I didn't like the ending, and really would not recommend it. The art was very good though, they made ... the characters very beautiful. Not much romance in it, just Yuki is upset and confused with her own feelings.

I watched the anime first and I really loved it, but there was no third season and so I decided to read the manga.

The story was OK, but the character progression and the ending were absolutely awful. In addition: I feel like there were too many characters involved, and when they were written as shallow two dimensional characters (no pun intended) it became confusing and tedious to have to read about them.

Yuuki is a Mary Sue. She's flat and never progresses. She was actually cooler in the first 30 chapters of the manga than in the remaining chapters.
Kaname is straight up abusive.
Zero is ... pathetic.


At one point in the manga there is a 1 year break, and I had high hopes that it would actually change something, but it didn't.
The ending ruined Vampire Knight for me. I initially gave it a 7 when I was around chapter 46, but I knocked it down to a 3 after I finished it.

I didn't bother to properly read the bonus chapter because I literally do not care about any of the characters anymore.

The ending is absolutely infuriating and ruined everything.

If you loved the anime, just leave it at that and don't read this manga.

Hino Matsuri — another one of my favorite manga (after Watsuki Nobuhiro). She paints a very nice, but so shrewdly, that it seems as though each character is endowed with a soul. Especially beautiful painted Kaname. He is not there equal! Yuuki... I like where it vampirka: long hair, more mature and intelligent look... Yes, Kaname tried... The plot, gorgeous, though a bit confusing...

Still, I admire Hino Matsuri! Manga «Vampire Knight» continues in production. And it pleases.
Chapter 43-45 manga will end in the anime. It would seem quite logical final denouement, everyone has their own way, and all that. But it is precisely these ways ... and begins to start a manga after some of the windows on one page, «After 1 year».

Matsuri begins to tie a new story on the ruins of the old and distant. The plot is much deeper and is not similar to the shoujo genre. It becomes like a heavy vampire drama.

Humor has become much smaller.

Beautiful eyes anymore.

Here I am now reading the last chapter released and sigh. Yet what were lovely and carefree main characters in the beginning, and what they are gloomy now.
Wholeheartedly root for Kaname. I love it.

P.S. : Too bad the anime does not peresnimut.

The things I loved about Vampire Knight initially: the art and that it was a high school drama but with vampires (substitute teenage hormones for blood lust). A little overdone these days, but keep in mind this manga started in 2005. Then the story really dips in the middle, like a sagging mattress. What kept me going was finding out what happens to all the characters I'd grown to love.

Having finished this manga in 2016 thinking and 'meh' and 'finally I'm done'. Coming back to it in 2017 after forgetting how it all ended, I read through a chapter summary page, re-read some key scenes ... in the manga and gotta say, I appreciate it much much more.

You need to have an appetite for bittersweet love stories, as opposed to neat, happy tidy endings (nothing on the level of 'She, the Ultimate Weapon' mind you). Personally, I appreciate bittersweet romances, they leave lingering feeling of what might have been. Worth remembering that this doesn't mean such romances are without happiness, you just need to accept the imperfect elements of the romance(s) as well.

Would I read it again? Probably not. Would I read a synopsis of the story in a few years time..again, definitely.

Vampire Knight was the first manga I started reading, only because I loved the anime so much that I wanted to read it too. I think it is a very nice manga,not just the typical shoujo story,definitely not,with lots of story in it, and its characters are really good, too.It has a complicated, yet well given story that makes us all excited, anxious and unable to be patient to wait for the next chapters.

The story if just wonderful.Complicated, and not only because of the love triangle.In some way, the big final bosses and the main characters are connected from the past in an ... amazing way.It has mixed both mystery, with drama and romance, and its funny moments are just osom.I can say that it's not the typical shoujo romance story, because the only things that actually make it a shoujo one, is the whole drama going on and the art.I wouldn't describe the story as shoujo, but that's my opinion.Of course it has romance, but it's a mysterious romance, where you keep asking yourself "what will happen next?" and all these kind of questions.

Art: 10/10
Okay, the art is the most beautiful thing I've seen.It's so special, and actually, each character's appearance, resemble something from their personality, or their interests. What's the best about it is that Hino Matsuri never gets us bored with her art, as every character has different characteristics.Hino Matsuri doesn't draw just one hairstyle, or one type of eye, she draws a variety of those and that's a very good thing.

It had everything. Each character was different from each other, and everyone had something which made him/her special.This manga has every type of character that could fit this story.Badasses, ladies, mentally unstable people, bad guys who seem to be the opposite, tsunderes, others that don't give a f*ck about anything, it has everything, which is another reason why VK always keeps us interested.*What I also adore about the vampire characters is that each of them has his own special power, given from their family blood.

I never actually enjoyed a manga or anime more than VK, except Dengeki Daisy. It made me feel as if I was co-existing with each character, and I understood everyone's feelings .There were times that it was causing me so much happiness that made my day, and other times that it made me so sad, that even the next days, when I remembered these sad moments, I cried.And there were other moments that so many unpredictable things happened, and I didn't know how to react to them.It's always exciting, and when it gets serious, you just feel like you start becoming even more attatched to this manga.

This is one of my favourite mangas ever, simply. Everything it has, all those VK moments that are just so unpredictable, that they actually make you think that you don't have a clue about what's going to happen next. Can't describe it any other way, this manga, is a masterpiece.It has it all.

On this manga series, Matsuri Hino introduces us to Yuki Cross, who has no memory of her past, before she was saved from a vampire attack by a pure-blood vampire named: Kaname Kuran. Ten years later, we find Yuki studying and working as a guard on Cross Academy, which is attended by normal humans at daytime and vampires lead by Kaname Kuran at night. But that's not all, around this series. we get to see how Yuki goes through different types of challenges while protecting the Academy's secret, trying her hardest to uncover the secrets beyond the wall that's blocking her memories and hoping that ... the peace between vampires and humans works out the right way and doesn't cease to exist.

I have to admit Matsuri's imagination is wonderful, but scary at the same time. The way she got to create and develop such an amazing series like Vampire Knight it's pretty amazing and original! I don't even know how to express the way this series made me want more and be scared to get more. The series was so spectacularly good that I'm still not over it and still unable to express myself about it! If you have watched the anime based on this series, I welcome you all "omfg, hi!", but do not think you've seen it all, because you haven't. The manga volumes go beyond what was turned into the anime and far more deep into it. Give it a try and see for yourself, you'll probably end up complaining like, "WHY WASN'T THIS IN THE ANIME??! WHYYY!?" Just like I did after finishing it while being on my manga hangover/book hangover (however you wanna call it). Ehm. . .uh. . .anyways, going back to the review. . .

The plot of this series is so good and unique that it made me fell in love with it immediately. The way it develops through the volumes is so well done that I don't think it's possible for someone to get lost around it! Why? Because one way or another, everything or at least almost everything is connected. Even though the story is about Yuki and her life, we don't only get to see what happened or what is happening to her. Matsuri made sure we got a deep look around and through every important or principal character's past, also making sure not to bore us with just one character with the same problem over and over again, which was great!

Oh God, what else? Oh, right! C H A R A C T E R S! We meet a lot of different characters in this series, but even though they're different, they've got one thing in common: development. Yes, development! The way the characters grow was amazing because every single one of them changes and outgrows themselves after facing so many challenges!

Vampire Knight is a Shojo-style manga. Now to get rid of the elephant in the room, Vampire Knight is FAR better than most other vampire stories like Twilight, and Vampire Diaries. The thing is, it doesn't need to try because those books aren't well liked by many people if you set up a survey (please don't send me hate mail, thank you).
As many of you know, Vampire Knight is about Kaien Cross making a school that teaches human-beings and vampires to co-exist with each other. Vampire Knight has just the right amount of students that are for, or against Kaien Cross's plan. The private ... school is called "Cross Academy".
It also focuses on a a girl named Yuki Cross who likes a Vampire named Kaname Kuran who saved her life about 10 years ago, and Zero Kiryu, a boy who hates vampires of all kinds. Yuki, and Zero are part of the "Disciplinary Committee" to enforce vampires that try to put the humans in danger. The humans are part of the Day Class, and the Vampires are part of what is called, the "Night Class". Since Vampires are mostly nocturnal, they take classes at night. Despite being part of the Disciplinary Committee, Zero is usually doing every thing he can to torment the Night Class because of his hatred towards vampires. As a result, he is usually being scolded by Yuki, but this may not be the only problem...
This may be a love triangle, but it doesn't get to integrated in the story which is nice, and the art style is amazing. One thing to note, many fans, like me, find characters other than the main 3 more interesting. Needless to say, the main 3 are not as good as characters than the rest of the cast. However, the love triangle is not as bad as you would think. Yuki doesn't spend all day talking about Kaname if you know what I mean. Another thing not to like about V.K. is how long the conversation scenes are sometimes. However the fight scenes are fun to read, surprisingly! And it can be pretty hilarious at times.
Overall, I recommend reading Vampire Knight if you had a long/bad day. If you want something Shojo to read as well, this would be a great choice. Really, it doesn't matter what you are looking for, many will enjoy reading Vampire Knight.

This is my first time reviewing so don't be too harsh.

This manga was one of the first manga i have ever read, i thought it was beautiful. The art was interesting, the character were nicely drawn but gradually once i went on to read more manga and came back to VK only when new chapters arrived, i felt deflated because i found out that this was a typical vampire book with a sappy story and unfortunately at the end, a terrible ending.

I liked it but overall at the end it was only decent. I only gave the overall score a 7 Because of ... the art and the patience the author took to write/draw it. I will never come back to it nor will i tell anyone to read it, I am not saying it was horrible, if you like the typical romance vampire story with surprising endings and lovable art go for it. I'm not stopping you. Just be warned.

A good manga and definitely worth your time . It is one of the best shoujo manga out there despite some flaws (major flaws lol)

Story - What's there not to like a story about vampires ? lol . It's for your own benefit if you don't take the story seriously because it does sink to the bottom during the last arc . It almost seems as if the mangaka was too focused in pleasing both Zero and Kaname fans, if only she could have gone straight to the end that she wanted (Mind you , the final(?) pairing is very obvious from the very start ... you just have to open your mind to accept it lol ) . Some plots (Sara ,Rido arc) were abrupbtly finished when they had the potential to keep the action going . More pages could have been devoted to it rather than their little tea parties and balls in the middle of a war (lol) .

Art- Excellent . No doubt about it and it keeps getting better .


Character - Yuki is a typical shoujo manga protagonist . There is nothing to love or hate her . Zero , Kaname , Kaein Cross , Aidou are more interesting characters .
Zero is shown to be a tormented soul (lol) who is adamant about his views about the vampires .
Kaname is a complicated character whom you either love or hate . (I love him

I'm not good at speaking english, but I'll make an effort. I read all the Vampire Knight chapters in 4 days, I fnished it today, and I cried after the ending, not because I thought the end was terrible, like everybody is commenting here, but because I thought the ending was AMAZING, LOVELY, TOUCHING and I am very proud and happy for had read this manga. I loved Yuuki, her evolution over the chapters, and how Kaname made we thought that he was something he, in fact, wasn't. I am very sad for Yuuki's and Zero's death - I am a little dumb, but I ... think Zero died because his age (?) -, but happy for Ai, Ren and Kaname ending. For those one that didn't like the ending, I am verry sorry, but I loved, I cried in the end, seeing how Yuuki and Zero (YEAH, THEY WERE CANON!!!) and Yuuki anda Kaname (YES, THEY WERE CANON TOO HAHA) were "together" forever. A beautiful and lovely manga, that I'll remember for a long time, and I hope I could read it one more time one day, so I could FEEL ALL THE HAPPINESS I felt at reading Vampire Knight, an amazing history <3
