Preliminary Spoiler

Preliminary (4/73 chp)
attack on titan before the fall is 70 years before Erens time its also that time when humans still didn't know how to kill titans properly and before they even invented Maneuver Gear.

Doesn't it seem interesting, how did human kind invent the Maneuver gear?
How were things before the original Attack on titan?
Well then this manga shows you the past which is very interesting.
This manga has nothing to do with Eren or it seems that nothing links, its a story about different people and their problems the only similarity is that they live in the same walls and have titans surrounding the walls and that human hate ...

AoT Before the Fall tells a story that happens about 70 years before Eren, Mikasa, Armin and everyone else you know from the main manga or anime.

The main character here is Kuklo, "The titan's soon", a baby somehow born from a titan, and during his journey, we will learn more about stuff like how people lived 30 years after humanity started living inside the walls; how the military dealt with the expeditions outside the walls without their ODM Gear, and even how the same was invented.

This manga has a bunch of new and amazing characters, which in my opinion, is the highest point of the ...

this does not need to exist. it is a long, exhausting, dreadful read full of the most useless and unnecessary series of events known to man. and slapping an AoT logo on it doesn't really help it out.

halfway into the first chapter, it's kinda evident that things are just going to take a turn for the worse. not that it's completely abhorrent but that it tries a lot of things and does not really succeed at any of them.

the art is ok. it tries to mimic the original AoT art but i did feel like the background art was lacking for the most part ...

Having recently blitzed through AOT, I decided to give this a go too.

For someone that was grabbed by the initial impact that AOT had, this was… lacking in it. A lot of it felt like some high school SoL.

What did I like about the series? The origin of the ODM gear and its inventors. The Survey Corps of early era that struggle to justify its existence and the politics of the capital city. All of those were cool but not enough to cover for the characters the character development and the plot that really goes nowhere.

The ending arc is unsatisfying. They did their best to ...

Meh! Compared to the main series, this prequel was painfully mediocre. Even if you're an avid AOT fan, this might not be for you. Because there is no 'twists' or 'revealations' that'll blow your mind while watching this because of it being a prequel.

The only thing this one has going is the history of Surevey Corp and the their evolution. The orgins of ODM gear, the first survey corp expedition, life inside the wall, internal politics of the people living in the wall and the exploration of few more regions inside the wall that never ever been mentioned in the main series due to ...

Preliminary (18/73 chp)
"Attack on Titan" is a series that is so detailed, phenomenally written and planned that it's hard to believe any other series could hold a torch too it- even if it shares the same name. "Attack on Titan: Before the Fall" might not be as impressive, ground-breaking, and beautiful as it's sequel counterpart, however it still effectively explores the themes of freedom, conflict and the nature of humanity through the parallelism of Kuklo and Eren Jaeger in the harsh, cruel setting of Paradis. The boy born of titan and the titan born of man, both rejected by a fearful and ignorant society yet standing tall ...

A pretty cool prequel manga that takes place 50 years before the events of Attack On Titan's first episode/chapter. Goes VERY in-depth with how the ODM Gear was constructed and it shows that AoT could be entertaining even without too much focus on the titans. Unfortunately this prequel manga has an extremely rushed and dissappointing ending.
One other thing worth mentioning is that this manga as a whole almost feels like it doesn't add anything more other than some cool ODM Gear and Survey Corps military details to the original story. Would recommend for hardcore AoT fans like me who crave for more AoT, especially ...
