This is a grossly underrated manga, by a grossly underrated mangaka Suzuki Nakaba. I read this series of his after his shounen hit Nanatsu no Taizai. Hmm how should I say this, this manga is quite refreshing, light and cute. It's really a wonder why this page is so little-visited. Well, I guess those who like this manga series are lucky, the presentation is quite funny and cute after all XD.
[Story:8]
Call me bias, but the story seems highly on fiction, even if I never played golf before. This is because a third-grader seems quite unlikely to be able to hit really as far as he
...
did using an adult club. Well, whatever the case, up to chapter 12 out of 15, I really enjoyed the manga for its coherency and funny nature. The story kinda sucked for chapters 13 to 15.
[Art:7]
The art is quite fine, the golf courses are drawn quite well. Expressions, eyes, character design and consistency is all not bad, but somehow Mukaida's character design looks awfully similar to Lancelot's. Anyways, there are a lot of impact lines and suitable background drawings for certain situations (e.g. black background when the character realises something or Lancelot's putting time).
[Character: 8]
Simply said, lots of potential as of chapter 15. The characters seem to be largely based on 2 kinds: warm and cold. And some characters seem to have both, forming Tsundere. Lol. Anyways, there's not much to say about characters other than "Gawain is really imba for a third-grader". Lol.
[Enjoyment:9]
Wow. Refreshing, cute and FUNNY!!!!! I think it's a shame not to read this manga, period.
[Overall:9]
There's really lots of potential for the manga as at chapter 15. It's really a pity that this 1998 manga is only translated till chapter 15.
Recommendations: Nanatsu no Taizai as well as other manga by the same mangaka XD.
