Bleach have many reference to Yu Yu Hakusho, mainly in  Lost Agent arc (for example at the beginning of this arc Yuzu have Keiko's first hairstyle :O)

Both have spirits and an afterlife and the typical Shōnen fights. Ichigo and yusuke are similar, Ichigo is sort of a delinquent character and yusuke is a delinquent. They have similar personalities. 

Similar style of comedy in both too, and both have good art with an older feel (until bleach adapts a more modern art style)

The protagonists of this two mangas are average delinquent boys who starts to witness spiritual events and got they powers just to start to work for an spiritual organization in another world who is responsable to protect people.

Both manga involve Japanese teenagers gaining supernatural powers. Some characters in both series are quite similar to each other (Yusuke & Josuke, Kuwabara & Okuyasu, etc.). They can also get quite dark and grim by Shonen Jump standards, although "Diamond" has a lot more bizarre/wacky moments. Both were also written in the '90s.

Naruto addpermalink

Both are shounen mangas that are pretty childish in the beginning and become more serious at some point. Both have a stupid main character who grows up during the story. They also have a lot of cool fights and a scary amount of supporting character who usually have a background story, so the reader is very likely to find his favorite character. Both of the series have a simple plot and simple art, and they're both the classic way-too-long shounen mangas, but they never get boring!

Jujutsu Kaisen addpermalink

The operant word here is vibes. Jujutsu Kaisen gives of a lot of similar vibes to Yu Yu Hakusho. Be it similarities between Yusuke and Yuji or the fighting of demons or the overall aesthetic of both series. Yu Yu Hakusho is even referenced a couple of times in Jujutsu Kaisen, the author offering up clear nods to an influence of hers. I’ll go so far as to say Jujutsu Kaisen is the modern Yu Yu Hakusho so if you like one I guarantee you’ll like the other!

I see a lot of similarities in the main characters and their resolve to fight and unwillingness to give up under pressure.

The shows share a similar structure with the dark tournament being showed very similarly to the matches in Slam Dunk, with amazing 90’s art.

Both are coming of age stories about delinquents that find a greater meaning to life than gangs and violence. While Yuu Yuu is a shonen fantasy where the protagonist finds a new vocation, a network of friends and a new meaning as a spiritual detective, Bakuon Rettou deals with the realistic trajectory of a young man involved with gangs who matures and begins to review whether this is what he wants for his life.

Togari takes inspiration on Yu Yu Hakusho. The main villain is very similar to Sensui in the chapter Black arc creating minor villains for the protagonist to fight while he has a master plan involving showing the horrors of humanity (same idea as the chapter black tape)

Hito Hitori Futari reminds me A LOT of the very first arc of Yu Yu Hakusho but done as a seinen series, and I feel this was entirely intentional. Fans of Yu Yu Hakusho before it became a pure battle manga who are looking for something similar but much more serious will probably love this.

If you liked the Four Saint Beasts arc (Yu Yu Hakusho) you'll probably like Evil Crusher Maya, since they are quite similar.

In Evil Crusher Maya, the main hero enters a medieval castle to battle a team of four demons, three of them control an elemental ability.

FMA is about brothers Ed and Al, who try to bring their dead mother back with alchemy, but Ed loses his arm and leg, and Al loses his entire body (Ed attaches it to a suit of armor). After Ed gets prosthetic limbs (automail), he vows to become a state alchemist to gain access to the information that could restore his limbs and Al's body. Little do they know about the giant war ahead of them and the corruption in the government they'll have to face. Yu Yu Hakusho is about a teenage delinquent named Yuusuke  who unexpectedly dies uncharacteristically by pushing a young child out of the way of an oncoming vehicle, which hits him instead. Nobody in the Spirit World knows what to do with him because they didn't expect him to die that day, let alone by a selfless act. To reward him/not knowing what to do, the Spirit World gives him another chance at life, and he becomes a Spirit Detective, hunting down malevolent demons. Both stories are full of baka characters (but not in the annoying brainless way!), humour and action, with splashes of romance, but romance isn't a main focus. The characters are very well-developed. There are also many awesome female characters who can stand their own ground and don't need saving. Both series are really epic, and quite long, so they'll keep you amused, and are completely faithful to their manga sources.  read more

Both manga's involve gods, devils, and humans and the struggle to keep balance and peace. Both main protagonists are very gifted and have amazing potential for greatness. Both main characters are very straight forward and arrogant but will fight for whats right in any situation. The two manga's show amazing character development and artwork with great detail on the battle scenes. Both manga's share Action, Fantasy, Comedy, and Drama genre components.

Characters are similar in terms of what they go through, their mannerisms and their roles in the story (for instance, both Yusuke & Goku are the main characters who itch for a good fight), and both series' action is dependent on a mix of martial arts and energy blasts.

Yusuke Urameshi and Ageha Yoshina are one in the same characer so if you like one you'll like the other. Psyren feels like the combination of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter, Togashi's other notable manga series. Both series features a cast of people loosely related forced to fight together to achieve their goals. I cannot stress this enough, if you like Yu Yu Hakusho then Psyren is the closest manga series to Yu Yu Hakusho there is besides Flame of Recca.
