Though the works are quite different both of them involve revisiting an older work by the author to give another generation/a slightly younger generation of characters a new lease of life and a story. Both are also easier to read if you know the source material.  

Marmalade Boy Little same author, is an alternate history, having spent time in the plot of marmalade boy 

Complex family situation. Similar comedy. I can't really say too much, since that'll probably spoil the plot a bit for Momoyama Kyoudai. But these two mangas are definitely similar - and both of the male lead seems to have realised their feelings much earlier compared to the female protagonists.
