In the year 2020, it was found out that a harmful virus had infected the human race, killing them slowly and bringing them towards a dark future. But with the technology they had in hand, in an attempt to save the civilized race, the people chose to go through with "Beast Transformation." Knowing that other than humans, all animals were safe from the virus, the humans made the decision to inject the genes of animals into themselves to become part-human, part-animal. In the end, the idea was "Either you do beast-transformation or die." With the race known as Homo Sapiens gone, by the year 2035, being a beast-human was normal.
tl;dr: A story that is mostly comedy in a ridiculous setting but still has a pretty solid story.
The setting and set up for this I thought was immensely interesting and amusing, in that it sets up a ridiculous premise that I expected would only be used for comedy and fanservice purposes, but manages to have a reasonably solid story too. The main characters were interesting and likable as was the relationship set up they had, but the character development only felt okay, wherein there were definitely some strong moments when that was the focus, which to be honest is more than I expected, but overall it felt
somewhat lacking as it wasn't focused on that much. In terms of plot, I also thought that surprisingly ultimately it was pretty solid, but it was somewhat slow for most of the manga and then the ending rushed everything, which also led to an ending that felt only okay in that it resolved the plot to a satisfactory degree, but didn't really have enough time to do much regarding the character set up beyond hinting at what would happen in the future. The manga relied heavily on its comedy as expected and from that point of view I thought it did quite well. A lot of the comedy especially early on is centered around how controlling the female cast is, which is usually something that annoys me tremendously, but in the context of everything I was okay with it and I found it really amusing. The art was incredibly good and used very well with great character designs.
This manga was actually fairly decent, definitely not the best one I've ever read, but it had its moments.
Well there isn't much here, essentially it's a story about a deadly disease that the cure to has turn everyone into animal people (like catgirls meeeeeoooowww). So what would happen if there were still humans in this world? Well, a lot of ecchi things I tell you what.
Its pretty nice, you can really see that the artist highlighted their personalititties.
Well, I mean you aren't really here for the characters nor plot development if you are wanting to read this manga, just enjoy the
ecchi. But if you like preachy characters, then you'll love this manga.
Meh? I mean it had its good moments, but it also had its bad moments like the ending which was a complete cop-out/axed ending. Really frustrated me.
Again, its just a meh manga, not something everyone will love, but it was bad. Worth a read if you're bored.
I should have known that it seemed a little too perfect when I read the summary, I really should have, but alas I didn't and so the few minutes I spent reading the first two chapters of this story are sadly minutes I'll never get back.
So I'm writing this review in hopes of saving some of my fellow Manga lovers the horrid fate of experiencing this piece of shit like I did. Now I know what your thinking, "You only read two chapters Vertius, how can you make a review on this story?" Well, it's simple, it's because by chapter two they fully disclose the
major hidden part of the plot that was not mentioned in the summary.
What you first read when you skim through is that a virus infects people and the only way to stop yourself from dying was to become a 'beast-human' like a cat girl blah blah, basic and generic but its a harem so what do you expect? Now to continue on with the summary you have the main character Kazuto Kokuryuu - a pathetic excuse for a character but that is neither here nor there - and our friend Kazuto is you guessed it, the only human left alive in a world of beast people!
Now once again, I know what your thinking, "Hey generic or not Vertius this seems like a pretty good harem to me. A lone human surrounded by cat girls? it's like heaven Nyaa~"
You would think so wouldn't you? But it's not and here's why!
The secret plot point that they forgot to mention was this. There is a special force in the Japanese government made up of all girls of middle school to high school age (how original) and they have the great job of controlling Kazuto's life down to every last detail! No, I'm not exaggerating.
When the annoying bitches first come we get a mind-numbingly boring monologue about how he is now officially an endangered species and he is not allowed to have any intimate relationships, or sexual relations because it could taint his pure genes.. yes you heard that right, apparently exchanging bodily fluids taints your genes, welp I guess us humans are all fucked then, if you've ever kissed a girl or a boy you're just kinda fucked now according to this Manga's great (trash) logic lmfao.
But wait, it gets's better, he's not allowed to do anything dangerous, so basically he has to live in his house 24/7 unless its for going to school, he is under 24/7 surveillance and there is one of these 'special force's girls' with him at all time including showers and bathroom breaks.
For some reason, they take everything out of his bedroom leaving him with only his bed and t.v ... like why? Remember earlier when I said he wasn't allowed any intimate/sexual relations? Well, it turns out HE CANT EVEN MASTURBATE, LIKE WHAT?
And do you want to know the best part about this all? The part that really did it for me.
HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING IN RETALIATION. Not a single thing. He didn't even try and stammer out an argument like all the other pathetic losers in harem's do, that's how overly pathetic this main character is.
If I could wish for one thing, it would be that this Manga never existed.
