Dr. Frost isn't like most psychological manga nowadays. It has nothing to do with using psychological manipulation to win some sort of game or competition. Instead, it revolves around investigating, explaining, and curing psychological problems like obsessive compulsive disorder and multiple personality disorder. Reading this manga makes you feel as if you’re in a psychology class. All the information is well-detailed and feels like it came straight out of an actual textbook or lecture; from, how they know that the person has a certain disorder to how it affects their lives to how they developed it to how to deal with it. Not a single

Since this doesn't have any review yet, i decided to give one. This isn't your typical manga like love comedy style or action fantasy but if you are more into realismc, or have enjoy psychology class or quite curious (like me) to know more about psychology like meaning of gestures, hypnosis, personality disorder etc., then give this manga a shot you can really enjoy reading this while learning so much from it.
I just want to give some emphasize on the genre, the proper genre for this is psychological, comedy, drama, seinen and slice of life. A psychology based manwha, so from there you can expect ... Nov 16, 2015
The overall asset of this web cartoon makes it completely different of others on it's style.
I first saw the dorama based on these series, and I was astounished with the writer's ability ro make the story fluid, without being too obvious about the crime scenario. Then I went to read the comic version, and it was pretty much the same. The characters, the plot and the environment of the whole story makes this a unique piece, that makes you eager for more from the first chapter to it's last one, and wonder if there is more besides the obvious in each chapter. Dr. Frost is a realistic psychological manhwa about people, and what it means to be human. Dr. Frost is a psychologist, who deals with people's mental “problems.” The story is divided into multiple small arcs, each following each of the various clients’ cases. It slowly revealing to the reader and characters Frost’s backstory and who he is. The story flows well, as each case spends a good amount of time for you to understand and sympathize with the characters, while not dragging out the cases. A bit of a problem with the pacing though, is that sometimes when they talk about Frost’s backstory it feels

This review is straight from me finishing the first 121 chapters of this manhwa that have been translated to English.
Story: The story is a collection of cases of psychological consultation. All the cases were different with different outcomes and it can be very well seen that the author of this manhwa, Lee Jong-bum knows what he is doing. Also the story between cases about the main characters is very well written and interesting. As someone, who has studied psychology (just basics in high school but still) I really loved to see familiar theories and experiments being part of the cases. Art: The art style is very similar to other ... Nov 9, 2024
Dr. Frost consist of two parts.
First, it's about a psychologist finding out the problems in people and trying to fix them. These parts are really good. The writer worked with real professionals from the field so it's on the realistic side. As you can see from the other preliminary reviews, reading it is recommended. Second, with a classic webtoon twist the story drifts away from the original synopsis and takes on a criminal turn. I wasn't fond of these detective plots. There were also some parts about Dr. Frost's character progression but at that point you might just go watch Dr. House. I've waited for years ... Apr 19, 2018
What? A manwha about counselling? Hell yeah! And it's excellent, I assure you.
This is the story of Nam-Bong Baek (aka Dr. Frost), who had a severe brain injury while he was young and as a result he's unable to experience certain emotions. He decided to study psychology in order to understand himself and comprehend human behavior, so now he's a counsulting psychologist at Yonggang University. The manwha is highly informative and educational, it provides insight to the most common mental illnesses through relatable stories and the different kinds of therapies available. It also addresses themes as the inexperience of recently graduated counselors, how it's preferable ... Nov 2, 2015
Dr Frost is ....... a pretty interesting webtoon .
Unlike many other psychological manga/anime which deal with the MC and his pals trying to outwit their adversaries with genius tactics and batman gambits Dr Frost is different in the sense that it 'actually' deals with psychology .This is a story about a psychologist and his cases . Story - 9 This webtoon(I'll shorten this to WB) is told in the format of arcs i.e each case usually takes around 4 - 8(some times 10 ) chapters .Minor additions to the overall plot occur at the end of each arc so worrying about stasis is unnecessary .Actual psychological ... Until the end of the first season and the comeback in 2020 it was a very good psychology story. Now I have absolutely no idea what's going on but it's interesting.
MINOR SPOILERS (A HINT) Its a good book but the 'villain' does not have any explainable motives, just to root out the cause before it grows or to I guess convince others to commit suicide? If you dont like big changes, only read until around chapter 112. But mr. moon becomes an unseeable and kind of annoying character after that. Good news: mc's able to have emotions again even though he physically damaged the emotion-bringer ... |
