The Seiun Award (星雲賞, Seiunshou) is a Japanese speculative fiction award for the best science fiction works and achievements during the preceding year. Organized and overseen by the Science Fiction Fan Groups' Association of Nippon (SFFAN; 日本SFファングループ連合会議, Nihon SF Fan Group Rengou Kaigi), the awards were given each year at the annual Japan Science Fiction Convention. It is the oldest SF award in Japan, which was first given in 1970 at the 9th Japan Science Fiction Convention and has been awarded every year since that. ![]() ![]() Seinen Manga often follows this unrealistic rhetoric of dark, violent, and sexual, whilst remaining consistent in a detailed and realistic style of art. However, not only is this an uneducated and rigid framework, but remains damaging by further perpetuating gender stereotypes. Here is a list of manga I have gathered published within the seinen demographic which feature softer, more feminine approach to concepts and stories. ![]() ![]() A seinen manga means a comic published in a magazine targeted towards the adult male demographic in Japan. ![]() ![]() Stories that mainly involve youkai, but also includes gods, folklore, ghosts, and the occult. ![]() ![]() From Buddhism, Christian sutras, etc. to stories about emerging religious groups. Works in which some kind of fictitious religion appears are also included. ![]() ![]() Part 1 -https://myanimelist.net/stacks/6823 ![]() ![]() Manga series with covers that feature recurring design and composition elements, consistent art styles, gradual changes that show intent and overall harmony of the entire collection. I'm open to suggestions, I try not to add too many “standing character” situations, but will do so if the art is striking enough. |
