Collecting manga can be really hard on wallets and the average right-to-left reader. So whether or not you want some short reads or something for your collection that will be easy on your bank account, here is a selection of underappreciated short series to explore your horizons with!

This will contain mostly one and two volume stories, but maximum English volume length will be three to four volumes. Official and COMPLETE English physicals must be available, so this stack will not have partially translated manga like many of TokyoPop's releases, nor digital-only releases like THE COMIQ (please still read that one though!). Most of these should be standalone titles and should be readily available even on the secondhand market.

This stack contains licensed titles that have been OUT OF PRINT and series that apply will be indicated as such. This means it is near impossible to find these new without destroying your wallet, but there is still a chance in the ever-growing secondhand market! To find these older, hard-to-find series, I recommend the following sites:

BookFinder is also a huge help with searching for listings with bargain prices! To get the best results, look up the ISBN for English prints of series and copy-paste them into the search.
