Do you like trashy ecchi series? Do you want mind-numbing writing and fan service that only takes two and a half brain cells to enjoy whilst you contemplate your life as to why you're reading this with an erection? Then I believe Kiss x Sis is the perfect trash series for you.

The anime may be the perfect way to come out to your friend as an anime fan and as a perverted degenerate, but the manga is next level stuff for any of you ecchi connoisseurs, you harem and romance consumers of the trash variety.

Kiss x Sis is a staple within the ecchi fandom of ... the anime community. Anyone who knows of DxD, To LOVE-ru, HotD, Prison School, and Eromanga-sensei knows of Kiss x Sis. It's unavoidable. It's almost... the stuff of legends.

Kiss x Sis is a tale of a boy thick as pig shit named Keita whose father gets remarried to a woman who has twins. As he grows up, the twins, Ako and Riko, fight to rightfully gain the ownership of Keita's delectable manhood. Like a horsefly to any form of fecal matter, Keita attracts the charms of other females, such as Otaku Teacher, Horny Loli, and Piss Girl, and thus ensues a hilarious romance comedy that devolves any form of sensibility and romance development into smut that anyone can enjoy with minimal effort of the brain.

I hate Keita, he's probably one of the worse harem protagonists you'll run into. Horny loli, on the other hand, is best girl in the series, hear me out, officer. As good as the twins are, Mikazuki knows what's up. She's the real MVP when it comes to dealing with Keita and his stupidity and the others' inability to make a proper move on him. She knows what the readers want to say to him, and she conveys our messages well. She will forever stand out as the best girl in the series, regardless of her age.

It's a shame that this series has come to an end, but all good things must come to an end.

If there's anything to take out of this series, it's that: if they ain't blood related, they're ready to be dated.

There's really only one reason to read this manga, the fan service. Sure, many ecchi manga have characters you can grow invested in the outcomes of their stories. This manga has that, but there are no satisfying outcomes at the end.

Read it for the fan service but don't expect it to go anywhere and you won't be disappointed. I feel robbed of the narrative ending I was hoping would be at the end of the story.

There are heaps of better manga that have good fan service, more interesting characters and an actual plot and story arc.

I don't hate the main characters, but I did ... want them to grow and it feels like we get 100 chapters in and the mangaka just gives up entirely on anything new, and undoes anything that adds depth.

For reference, I watched the anime many years ago and I gave it a 5/10. Why is the manga so much worse, to me?

Morality and other issues aside, considering the themes of this story, my biggest criticism has to do with the mangaka's decisions regarding how the story develops over time. Ditama Bow struggles constantly with many things:

1) the dad changes personality constantly across multiple chapters
2) some characters' actions go absolutely unpunished compared to others, leaving the reader confused on why that happens
3) it's very notorious that the author struggled a lot with bringing the story to an end. At some point, ... you'll feel that the characters are going and developing themselves and that everything's coming together to a pleasant conclusion BUT eventually everything will change back to square one for no reason at all and rinse and repeat the same old stuff chapter after chapter until the end.


But what about the good things? Well, some scenarios I thought were either creative or hilarious and I have to praise that. However, it's just not enough to save this boring manga from a 3/10.
