Imagine that there is a thirty to forty year old woman who enjoys a particular soap opera that features a particular doctor who they think is the cats meow to them, to the point that they enjoy writing fanfics that feature themselves hooking up with said doctor. Imagine now the kind of story the person would create due to their blind wish fulfillment and regurgitation of medical facts they learn within the show and also imagine that they change the show from being a fictional piece to a real thing in their story. This was unfortunately how the story felt.
On top of this the
story as horribly paced to the point that the characters were horribly flat and the dialog was stilted. Nobody objected to him filming at the clinic and he filmed there despite the fact ther would be laws in place. He outshines the female doctor because he is suppose to be super amazing, which only goes to make it seem like she can't function and run even part of the clinic on her own. There is also the corny idea that they should start a second clinic specifically for teenagers “because they don't want to go to the same clinic as their parents”. However, the story forgets the fact that this IS a small village we are talking about that is rather rural and the teens and thus this logic just doesn't work.
And don't get me started on how cheesy the romance was. Neither one of the characters have any major faults and the truth of the matter is both are major Gary Stus and Mary Sues. I honestly think the plot line would have done much better with a much longer, better thought out story to flesh out the characters, but then again... there may also be a reason why it is only a one-shot too. I honestly feel that the artists talents were wasted big time on this piece, and I am left wondering if I should try reading another piece of theirs to see if it is any better or not.
