Both have girls who control mecha and there always a male protagonist that can also pilot one and being the join in a all girl school academy and being the only male attending. Both are very similar by just those but different in their own right if you like one you might like the other

IS and Eva actually have quite a similar plot, they both have high school students operating some form of mecha, that fight against larger opposing forces. By reading both you may notice that the protagonists are surrounded by the opposite gender and that both manga contain a lot of what are now known cliches in the animanga industry. Examples of cliches in both include: the beautiful foreign exchange student, dere archetypes, the beautiful older woman. Remember these are examples in both, if you were to look at both manga separately, you would discover the lot more cliches exclusive to each manga. IS differs with a harem focus  read more

In both series, the male protagonists are considered unique in respect to the series' premise: controlling mecha in IS, and magic in Trinity Seven. Both protagonists are surrounded by many female characters reinforcing the two series' harem and romance categorisation.

Despite being typified by different narrative styles and aesthetics, both titles revolve around a male protagonist who are the only one of their kind. In IS: Infinite Stratos, the male protagonist is the only male person to be able to control the series' mechanical suits. In Break Blade, the male protagonist is the sole user to be able to use an ancient golem.
