Synopsis

Hundreds of years ago, horrifying creatures which resembled humans appeared. These mindless, towering giants, called Titans, proved to be an existential threat, as they preyed on whatever humans they could find in order to satisfy a seemingly unending appetite. Unable to effectively combat the Titans, mankind was forced to barricade themselves within large walls surrounding what may very well be humanity's last safe haven in the world.

In the present day, life within the walls has finally found peace, since the residents have not dealt with Titans for many years. Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert are three young children who dream of experiencing all that the world has to offer, having grown up hearing stories of the wonders beyond the walls. But when the state of tranquility is suddenly shattered by the attack of a massive 60-meter Titan, they quickly learn just how cruel the world can be. On that day, Eren makes a promise to himself that he will do whatever it takes to eradicate every single Titan off the face of the Earth, with the hope that one day, humanity will once again be able to live outside the walls without fear.

it's hard for me to articulate what makes attack on titan so good in just a short review, but i think it's fair to say this has some of the best worldbuilding in any manga ever made. it's complex, full of detail, and has a great story with a nuanced cast of characters. this is far and above one of the most interesting worlds i have ever gotten lost in and, despite its drop in quality, is still definitely worth reading. it's a cultural landmark that is epic, addictive, and excellently put together.

despite this, the aforementioned drop in quality is too glaring to be ignored. ...

Mixed Feelings
Shingeki no Kyojin is a manga that leaves me somewhat perplexed when attempting to articulate my reading experience. On one hand, it is an action-packed narrative woven with tragedy, providing a gripping tale that, when coupled with the animated adaptation, delivers intense scenes that evoke fervent emotions as our characters valiantly confront, survive, and unfortunately, some meet their demise in the relentless pursuit by the Titans.

However, on the other hand, I find Hajime Isayama to be a writer who might not fully grasp the maturity required to handle such profound themes. Towards the end, I found myself shaking my head at the narrowness of the ...

meh the last chapters leading to the ending sucked, sorry to say it but there was no saving how it seemed he didnt know how to end it. It was as if he forgot the characters personalities, goals, feelings etc and they all became the exact same. Everything before then is a 10/10. Had a lot of potential and could probably have ended in a better way.
I think people will enjoy it but need to not have high expectations, and it's very possible the ending will be a huge disappointment considering how much time will be spent reading.
The artstyle and everything else is awesome, no ...
