Synopsis

It's 1965 and guerrilla fighting and war has divided north and south Vietnam with conflict. American intervention is being sent in as support, and along with the army a young Japanese-American journalist by the name of Hikaru Minami, enters Saigon, South Vietnam as a newspaper reporter for 'Stars and Stripes.'

After witnessing serious crimes being committed, he is almost killed when a mysterious girl, known only as Princess, comes to his rescue. Is this love at first sight?

Mixed Feelings

Strange. Rather strange.

Another one of those idiosyncratic art-styles due to its minimalism. But it's quite interesting especially when the rather child-like simplicity of the art clashes with the dark subject matter, the Vietnam War.

That's interesting and all, but on the whole the characters and the story are...directionless. Or they do have directions, but go all-over the place. It's just so random and nonsensical. I cannot tell if it's bad or intentionally absurd to highlight the strange things war can do. But nonetheless that it didn't really seem well-executed makes it the former for me.
