In both the main girl is disguised as a boy due to the fact that she was forced to replace her brother/ best friend that died, and so, she goes in his place to attend an academy.

They are different but both are school shoujo with the same feel to them. They both have butlers serving a girl.

Both are about female bodyguards

They take the place of their brothers, they fall in love with someone they are not suppose to. But the plot is really different

Both series have physically strong female leads who are seen as males. In Hana no Kishi the female lead pretends to be a male on purpose, in W-Juliet the female lead happens to look like a male. Both series have beautiful art and supportive male leads. In W-Juliet the male lead also pretends to be a female.

In both mangas, the female protagonist wants to be a knight because of a gone, not longer reachable male person. Both mangas are set in a school. In Hana No Kishi, the protagonists is disguised a a guy because of circumstances and fights for another person to protect a greater goal, in Shoujo Kakumei Utena, she fights as a girl, but not so girlyish, in order to find her prince. In both stories you will find swordfights in which the looser has to give up of everything/ something precious and also a love story and a bit of reverse harem.

Another gender bender with a strong female lead both mentally and physically. The people around her try to help her and become part of her strength AND they are all gorgeous!

Girl who crossdresses and works as a knight in a school environment to protect girl/girls. There are some romance influence in both, but moreso in HnK. Shitsurakuen, although it's not like some dark horror story, is a bit more deep.

Strong female leads both physically and mentally. Both main characters are hiding the fact that they are women by disguising themselves as men. The stories however are different, the biggest similarity being that they both involve sword fighting and a reverse harem cast, other than that there isn't a ton of similarities plot wise. If you loved the strong female lead in one though, I would definitely recommend the other.

The main character takes their dead brother's place.

Similar theme: A school where high class students have their own butlers living with them in the school.

Has almost the same art?! and feeling of protecting someone dear to you?! and someone rich :P

There is a profound similarity and difference. Both characters cross-dress as men in order to serve there master. While Hana no kishi focuses more on a goal to be the last knight of the round table. Mayo Chiki is a bit of slap-stick humor and light-heartedness focusing on the main boy character

The setting, time period, and style are very similar in both series. Makai Ouji is supernatural and Hana no Kishi is not~
