I think this shoujo does a lot of things really well in the one-shot medium. It told short, self-contained, yet fairly intricate stories all at once. It was a slice of life focusing on the more bleak aspects of life, but not written to be depressing. There is sometimes a message of hope, and sometimes not.

This collection of one-shots feels quite real in the characterization, while maintaining the softer shoujo art style that I really like. It wasn't perfect and didn't try to ask the deepest questions of course, but it portrayed the harsher side of life very well.
