The name is a small misnomer in that the event in question had a much lower emotional impact than implied by it being the name of the story.
Breaking down the tropes, the story has a standard plot of: FL defends child ML from abusive family, child gains power and wants romance while FL sees ML as child still, but slowly she starts to see him as a man! Ooooooo
The abuse is short and not gratuitous which I liked, the comeuppance is satisfying. Most of the story is magic training and pining for the FL and exposition/story. I personally enjoy training sequences and magic system

Usually stories of this genre have an age difference and give me the ick, that is not the case here! Unfortunately the ML becomes very selfish and defensive of the FL, it makes some sense with his personality and how she's the only person he has on his side but it's unattractive. I prefer when the ML leans towards being extra kind to those his partner cares about.
There is some danger when the original FL appears the story will get insufferable with the FL assuming the future she saw will overwrite the current, very different, reality. Leading to her rejecting the ML a bunch for a stupid reason. It's still early though and it could also do something much more interesting!
