This manga is misleading in so many ways; usually, when a manga doesn’t “deliver” on my initial expectations or predictions, it’s disappointing due to its wasted/misused potential, however, this manga, in its entirety, was an entire bamboozlement from the plot, characters, and writing.

With a parody-like premise, the plot isn’t expected to be the most well-crafted nor thought out, as it relies heavily on ridiculous situations and broken/absurd humor, but this shattered every single expectation, in a good way. ... As of the moment, the reason why I put off this review for so long, it’s hard to truly decipher and understand the encompassment of the plot — the overarching theme/progression — but even so, with the way it is currently going, the plot is full of surprises and contains a constant appeal and drawl from unpredictability and light-hearted satisfaction.

All of the characters are well-written; from the main character, main cast, side characters, and the disposable “humor” characters, they all have relevancy into the story through gradual exposition and quite possibly, from one of the best introductions to an isekai story of all time, if not the best. It’s hard to describe the characters without spoiling too much about their whole archetypes, but they are by no means cliche, and they provide a lot of rationality, emotional conveyance, and comedy for the story.

I don’t usually comment about art in stories, since it’s an unfair comparison to the less known and lower budget mangas, but the art is absolutely beautiful while providing so much to the story’s developments and emotions. Whether it is used for simple comedy, badass moments — especially with the colored eyes — or for some of the most heart-tugging scenes, the art in this manga completely elevates its message/writing.

I can not stress enough about how well-written the characters are, as even when I was rereading this with spoilers, expecting an emotional scene, I still cried my ass off. This manga may not be the most sophisticated with its plot line, but all of the other attributes of this manga well make up for it. I can not attest to the story’s longevity, but if it remains remotely close to how good it has been up to now, then it will always be a satisfying read with plenty moments of heartfelt laughter.

PS: I was originally going to score this a 7.8, but I reread it, and I was completely blown away about how good the story is.

Small update as of chapter 16: The story is better than I could even comprehend, and I cried again (yes, really). This is the best isekai of all time for me and probably my favorite manga of all time; anyways, thank you for the love, and I’m glad this is my most popular review for a well-deserved manga. Go read this, now!

Let me just start off this review by saying, i hate reading. I dislike reading novels, and i can just barely read a volume or two if the manga is good enough. I've watched thousands of anime but only finished about 20 manga volumes in my entire lifespan.

I was forced to read this manga as a result of losing a bet, so I didn't go into this with the greatest of expectations

But I most certainly wasn't expecting to be rewarded. This is THE BEST piece of media that I've ever consumed. I'm positive this will receive an anime adaptation some day and I sincerely hope ... they do it justice. This manga was so good I want to greet the author personally and shake his hand and if I'm lucky geek out about the whole world he's made with him.

It made me feel so many feelings most anime can't make me feel nowadays. And the cliffhangers make me want to do things to myself that I can't write about in this review.

Now let's try to be a bit more objective about this.

Art - 8/10. I don't know if it's just because I'm new to reading but it was kind of hard to keep track of everything and focus because the pages are just COVERED in flashy panels and giant dialogue boxes. And the art itself, it's really good. At least when it needs to be. It's not Grand Blue Dreaming good, but it's close.

Story - */10- Honestly putting a numerical value of the story is just not possible for me. The story makes the whole thing. Especially in the way it's told. The pacing, the narrative, everything. It's too good.

Seriously, give this one a shot if you haven't already

This is surprisingly solid. I went into this being very sceptical but I actually really like how this story approaches an abnormally strong main character. It is more similar to manhwa tower stories in its setting but with a plausible clause that allows for the overpowered entity to exist in the universe without it becoming a power scaling issue. This will not be a long review as I do not feel strongly about many of the happenings aside from being generally positive about the writing, world building and art. It is all decent, with the art definitely being quite good. But it is also not ... very far along yet. And I am worried about how ambititous this story is. This is a problem I generally have with tower stories, but the journey is simply too long. Creating enough distinct worlds to the point that all of them feel worthwhile and interesting enough to the point that it was worth doing it in such a manner in the first place is very difficult, and doing 100 of them is even more impossible. Even the very best examples I can think of usually end up only really focusing on specific parts or are much smaller in scale. And in those examples the story is interesting primarily on the back of its characters. In most cases doing a tower structure divided in levels is not worth it over just doing 1 world that is fully built up. It is often used as a cheap trick to only do the surface level world buiding n times instead of a very high quality world once. Here I haven't quite seen the quality of character writing or worldbuilding yet to make me want to read for another 99 worlds. So while I think it is good, I am generally a bit hesitant on the true scale and investment required to really dive into this story. In general I think that while the first 4 volumes show promise of quality, I am also worried that it is just a prolonged hook, that will lead to yet another mediocre power fantasy, especially with how slow any and all reveals have been so far.

Whether you should read this or not is up to you. It is a good time for now atleast. But whether it is worth investing your time into is a different story. In the case that the story is allowed to continue to its conclusion, which I would be extremely surprised by, it could very well be quite good. But I think that to justify the length it will require, you need something more than being just good. So I would personally probably not read this until it is a bit further along to see how the general opinion shifts. I would also like to add that because this is a monthly publication I think the chance of this being seen to its conclusion at the current pace is 0%. I absolutely do not think it is possible. It would quite literally take 100 year.
