I just have to gush about this manga I love it so much. I've gotten so used to every manga having to have a main character that's the center of attention. The strongest, the smartest, the cutest, beloved by everybody and never makes a mistake. Very often a story like this would be how the MC is actually the greatest idol to ever be born and this would be the story of how she shows the world how great of an idol she actually is. But this author does it differently much in a way I wish I saw more often in manga.
Here it actually
...
has a main character that isn't those things but not only that it genuinely has a message to get across that that's okay and there's nothing wrong with it.
"Even if no one else supports you. To me, you've always been my number one idol."
This line actually brought a tear to me because it was kind of a hard lesson I learned myself many years ago. I used to always try to make everyone happy, even strangers and people I barely knew. And in doing this I really overlooked the people right next to me. It's a real thing and a lot of people suffer from grandiose ideals that don't actually matter that much.
Irl there will always be people that don't like you. You will make mistakes. You will feel bad. And sometimes things don't go the way you expect or hope. But that's okay. And I love to for once in a blue moon see a story that actually portrays that instead of the grandiose hyper unrealistic ideals. Also the menhera/yandere is great too.
