Synopsis

The misadventures of patients in a mental ward, from the viewpoint of Sheena Jung, a nurse in the early stages of her career. Sheena works hard to take care of her patients and get along with her colleagues. She treats patients with various mental illnesses, such as mania, depression, delusion, and eating disorders. In the process, she learns how to treat her own self with love and kindness.

Background

Nurse Sheena's Asylum Diary was originally serialized on Justoon, and later on comico, from October 16, 2017 to October 23, 2022. After being removed from comico, the series became available on Naver Webtoon, where 10 side stories were published from November 2, 2023 to January 4, 2024. It was published in book format by Wisdom House (위즈덤하우스); 3 volumes containing the first 38 chapters were published from May 31, 2018 to January 17, 2020.

The series was adapted to a 12 episode live-action TV series, which released on Netflix on November 3, 2023 (titled as Daily Dose of Sunshine in the West).

The first 88 chapters were published digitally in English by NHN comico Corp. through Pocket Comics until it was removed from the platform.
