This is the good stuff. Great art, great pacing, great character dynamics, interesting sex scenes, the works. Add on top of this that we get gorgeous coloured panels and hilarious writing, this is so close to being a 10. Why isn't it? Because the characters themselves were a bit unbelievable, specifically their physical prowess. If the author had spent like 2-3 panels on them training in martial arts classes or in gymnastics then this would be a 10, easy! Kou and Maki are such a great ship it's kinda intimidating. handsome boy and Maki, oh my god that devilish grin and pink pompadour are a look, not to mention his cocky attitude. Chef's kiss.
What impressed me most about Nakaseteyaru yo Yankee-kun is the author left many breadcrumb trails that didn't go where I expected, which had me guessing what would happen next throughout reading. I read this in bed beside my sleeping boyfriend and the ending was so chocking my gasp almost woke him up! Overall this read was as refreshing as a cold soda on a hot summer day.
