Synopsis

Kaoru Tono heard a rumor: The laws of space and time mean nothing to the Urashima Tunnel. If you find it, walk through and you'll find your heart's desire on the other side...in exchange for years of your own life. On the night Kaoru just so happens to find himself standing in front of a tunnel that looks suspiciously like the one the rumor describes, he finds himself thinking of Karen, the sister he lost in an accident five years ago. To Kaoru's surprise, he's been followed by the new transfer student Anzu Hanaki, who promises to help him experiment with the mysterious tunnel—but what does she want from Kaoru in exchange? And what will he have left to give, after the tunnel's done with him?

This isn't a perfect adaptation of the light novel, but it's miles better than the movie. Character designs are a bit questionable at times, especially for more close up shots, but it doesn't impact the reading experience much. I do think there was a lot more comedy added compared to the light novel, which kinda makes the emotional scenes less emotional. The characters do feel pretty similar to their ln counterparts, and are actually expressive, unlike in the movie. Just don't watch the movie. I beg of you 🙏

This manga is really really good! The story is very interesting and unique! The characters have strong personalities, charisma and backstories that align with their choices later on. I have to mention about the art of this manga, it is VERY BEAUTIFUL, the sceneries and characters were drawing so well, I loved it! I don't finished reading yet, because the other 2 volumes are not translated at the moment, but I am very curious about the mistery so far and what will happen next.

This manga is very good. It is incredible that having only four volumes it manages in the first two chapters to create an intrigue that you want to know more about. Also the characters grow on you as if you knew them from many more previous chapters.

It is really well written, condensed into a short manga a complex and deep story with ease. (note that I didn't read the light novel in which it is based. In fact I just discover there is a light novel because of this manga).
