Overall, I found "My Gift LVL 9999 Unlimited Gacha" to be an enjoyable and engaging manhwa. The story and characters are well-developed, with plenty of action and adventure to keep readers hooked. "Lvl 9999: Unlimited Gacha" is another fantasy, op mc manga, but hear me out: It comes with a twist. That's right, you heard me. And I know what you are thinking right now: "but dude, all fantasy mangas have a twist now". And here comes the motivation for this review, the sole reason I was motivated to write a review to another run-of-the-mill fantasy manga. The art.

Most fantasy or isekai manga have the same art over and over again. By the same art, I mean the same characters over and over are the sole focus of the panels throughout the chapters, which, with the lack ... of backgrounds and multiple props, at least for me seems a little bit amateurish. Another feature that repeats through a lot of these mangas, that not necessarily is a bad thing per se, is the level of polish unique to digital drawing. I know most, if not 99.9% of manga nowadays is made digitally, but these fantasy mangas I'm talking about feel more like character illustrations in every panel. Like, the connection between panels is often lacking, because characters are so "plastic" that every panel feels like a showcase of the characters, more than a story told by drawings.

That's the part when this manga makes a difference. The art is like multiple sketchs. If you could not tell by now, I love this unrefined-like art. Because 99.9% of the times a manga has this "artstyle", It has a deep range of emotions, faces, poses, close ups, etc. Every panel feels like a rough sketch, but that's because we are accustomed to the digital era where every panel is plastic levels of tones and filters put on. The characters in "Lvl 9999: Unlimited Gacha", as was my prediction in chapter 1, do go through a myriad of emotions in the arcs. Specially in the little group of humans featured shortly after the beginning. Those little dudes feel alive not because of the realism or the polish of the art, but because of the raw emotion that the mangaka managed to portray in their faces. They do feel alive, yes, because of their story, their bonds and their trials and tribulations. But the artsyle really manages to go further beyond, and makes them feel not like heroes, but just as little, brave, kids.

So, as a brief summary, "Lvl 9999: Unlimited Gacha" is a good manga, that is so-so on the story department, but excels in the art department. The story is key to the enjoyment of the manga, I know, and many mangas are succesful only due to their story, I know. But the quality of the character development and storytelling conveyed through the details in the drawings is OUT. OF. THE. PARK. Oomae Takafumi, more than a good cartoonist or artist, is a genius illustrator. I truly hope he gets featured in other, more succesful works.

The story is your basic revenge story much like "Shield Hero" or "Arifureta", other similar stories.

This manga lacks proper character development and world building. As for the revenge story written so that we feel epicaricacy/schadenfreude ( enjoying the pain of other) for the other villains and races. Yet that also weaken the story since it is badly written since it paints them as all bad so they get what the deserve. There are meaningless things added to the story that have no point in the main story since it isn't expanded on or touch after it is mentioned afterwards like dungeon core.
The story ... lack pacing too since there are fillers in the manga to slow down his revenge since the story would end to quickly.

The story I would say is your avenge fantasy story which is something that is something to kill time but it isn't something that is worth telling anyone about.

The Main Character (MC) is Over Power (OP) after the chapter 1. Which means that he could easily get revenge on the people who betrayed him right away if he so desired too. He doesn't because he want to be careful which is odd since He is the max level of 9999 with little worldly experience to actually warrant that level of carefulness. In "Overlord", Ainz got more careful when Shalltear when she was taken over. Yet the MC in this story hasn't experience anything like that yet and hell he even got someone who told him that he would destroy the world with his powers.

The MC's ability allowed him to have a whole army of people who were around level 500-9999 which mean he could take over the world. since many people's max is 500 unless they are special.

It would have been great character development for him to get a bigger ego since that would allow for character development when one of his allies is defeated by another stronger villain.

The writer also try to slow down his revenge by making him become an adventurer for some reason to gather information which is kinda dumb since he has high level assassin on his team which means that he should have highly skilled people in stealth to get this info for him the manga also shows people in the background gathering info him too which add to another reason why he doesn't need to become an adventurer for info since later they used words and phases that royalty uses to torture humans against the royals which mean that his spies are that good at info gathering to know the words said verbatim .

As for the other characters who are his allies are summons which mean that are 100% loyal to him to the point that the worship him. Yet they all are just basic anime trope characters like the stupid girl, the cool guy, the violent one, and etc.

The world building is terrible since many things in manga like weapons and skills that don't show any signs of depletion like Mana or whatever which would create a restriction on all characters to make it more interesting in terms of the fighting.

They also just add in random things that don't get touched on or explained like the dungeon core which was something they explained at that they know nothing about and wanted to learn more about but never did but later they just use it like it was nothing so why even mention it.

There are 9 races in the manga. So they also added in racism against humans for being weak creature that is so ingrained in to all society to the point that everyone get epicaricacy when they harming humans. The writer did they to make the revenge story more fulling since they are so bad that you get epicaricacy/schadenfreude .Yet the issue is that the 8 other races hate humans so much that is don't make any sense to have any alive since all of the 8 races view human lives to be so worthless and like kill them and are thousands of times stronger than humans. To warrant this level of hatred is mystery unless they were wronged by humans sometime in the past that is to ingrained to all 8 race societies. Even in "No game No Life" where there were 16 races none of them had a hatred of humans to the point that killing them is joyful. As I mention that is was done to make the reader feel happy about the murder and torture of those people but the universe explanation is lacking unless that the goddess who made them, loved human more.
