Synopsis

The "Great War of Heroes," in which the hero and the demon king vie for survival and power in each incarnation. The fourth great war was also a war where the heroes defeated the Demon King... It's an undisclosed fact. Twoeight, the ace of the "Agency" in the dark side of kingdom, undertakes all the dirty work for country and supports the Hero to subjugation the Demon Lord from shadows. As the unsung hero, Twoeight hopes to live a peaceful life after the war. However, defeating the Demon Lord is not enough to bring peace to the world.

This is a story about an awkward boy who is a former "behind the scenes" agent. Fights, opposes, and tries as hard as he can to protect his daily life.

Coming into this, I thought “Shadow Hero’s Daily Life” would be one of the many generic retired slow life mangas. However, I couldn’t have been further off. To put it out there, “The Fruit of Grisaia” must have been a huge inspiration for this series. By no means is it a stretch, since the last time I’ve heard of “Grisaia” was eight or so years ago, but even I recognized that one of the arcs in this manga is a straight spinoff of said inspiration. With that being said though, I used to fangirl over “Grisaia,” so it was a nice nostalgic feeling of experiencing ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (27/35 eps)
Despite the manga having such a long title, it is sadly far less interesting than most. While there are parts of decent writing, it is overshadowed by lackluster art, story, and characters. The manga is in the category of being not good or bad; but closer to being mindlessly boring.

Story: 4/10
Let's immediately throw the positives in. The manga does well to present our character's personalities, but also how the overall arc plots affect them. The world, while seemingly bland at first, does touch on the idea of politics. The fighting is also enjoyable at times, due to the story taking a part in it, making ...

Preliminary (5/35 eps)
The manga is nothing but a chimera of every possible cliche you've seen in "ecchi harem" battle academy mangas, but ofc without any ecchi or harem. Think of it as that "Maou Gakuin" anime with one "Anos Voldigold" but even more generic and coupled with an isekai-ish setting (he's a native of the world, but the world unfortunately is the same generic one).

The rest is all standard affair with the cold distant protagonist that hides his past, is op etc but added is the feeling of victimhood of isekai edgy protagonists whose story always starts with: "Abused by his black company", "talents not recognised ...
