-Both features around a pair of detectives solving crimes. There is the weird one that solves the crime and the innocent one who is their acting assistant. -Both are gag mangas SPOILERS: -Both of the detective mc's backgrounds revolve around mysteries which was not properly solved. Kuroba's is his father's death which was suspected as a suicide. Ron's is about the 'Bloody field trip' incident where he was framed as the perpetrator.

Both are mystery series about a kooky yet brilliant masters of deduction and a kind "straight-man" solving mysteries for the local police. Both are (more importantly) related to the original Sherlock Holmes IP and are all about the thrill of solving crimes. Both have great art, but Kamonohashi Ron has more comedy in it compared to Moriarty the Patriot, and MtP is a tad darker and more dramatic as it's from the perspective of the "villain," but if you're looking for some more Sherlock Holmes-based manga to read, this is a good contender!
