"When the dreamt regression turns out not so dream-like...."
We've seen so many fantasy world-based regression stories where the lead character ends up with a bad ending and then gets another chance in the form of regression. Having lived all this before they have knowledge of the future event and personalities of others they can try for a better future (especially in manhwas).
Most regression stories follow more light-hearted and dream-like storytelling but this thing hits so unexpectedly hard. This story completely crushes your expectation of what you expect of a so-called regression story,
it's more like re:zero's Subaru loop+ depression & hopelessness 100.
This story is
...
about our protagonist, who is stuck in a never-ending loop of tormentation living the bad experience of her fiancee/husband cheating on her with her sister. No matter what path she chooses to take eventually it ends up being more and more tormenting for herself. Whether she tries to aggressively stop it or ignore it or tries to run away, it eventually turns out bad for her.
The story starts off with the first regression where we are introduced to the story then from there on out it is part of different regression and flashes of her memory. How she eventually starts losing herself and becoming more and more emotionless while looking for someone to support her but no one is really on her side. Even her parents look at her as a tool to marry her off and that's her sole purpose.
For the story so far, it's hella depressing. won't lie about that.
But there is an obvious curiosity to know how it turns out even after there is no hope for her the story fills you with the emotions like the hate for her sister and fiancee/husband and empathy for her,
"you want to see her fiance get punished"
"you want to see her get a good end"
Considering that's how it was written to amass the reader's emotion to keep them to it, it's a job well done.
Since at the end of the day, it's just her living the same time period over and over again so eventually it starts to get boring and repetitive.
