Synopsis

Everyone knows of the most powerful soldier, the Iceblade Sorcerer, who led the country to victory three years ago, but few know his true name: Ray White. After weathering through a bloody war, Ray enrolls at Arnold Academy, ready to experience a normal life—a luxury he never had. To further this goal, he keeps his identity as the Iceblade Sorcerer a secret, the scars of the past still haunting him to this very day.

Despite being ostracized for being a commoner, Ray befriends the prideful yet kind Amelia Rose, the muscle-brained Evi Armstrong, and the shy and bookish Elisa Griffith. However, conspiracy is lurking in the academy walls, and Ray is tasked with hunting down a spy whose motives remain unclear. To protect his newfound friends and the people he holds dear, Ray will do whatever it takes, even if it means confronting his past.

This is my first review, so please be understanding. :)

This is a manga I picked up on a random occasion, just to read something and see if it was interesting and wow i was surprised by the depth it offered. The first half starts out very bland, you follow this overused overpowered blank slate mc who takes down all evil in his way and tries concealing his own abilities at school because he's just so mysterious. (so like every power fantasy manga ever) this is also followed up by some bland extras for characters. But then something happens around halfway reading this.

this is my first ever review, so i'm going to keep this short. personally, i greatly enjoy this manga and i look forward to seeing it develop more in the future. (keep in note i am only at chapter 14 at the time i am doing this review)

It's really a shame that such great artwork is wasted on the trashy story. Boring shounen battles with zero buildup or suspense. Fight scenes feel more like random encounters than part of any cohesive story. MC is a god from the first chapter. It's kind of hard having any type of conflict when the MC is already the most powerful warrior in the universe. What is even the point of having trivial school battles when the MC can literally destroy an entire country? All the dialogue is cringe and predictable.
