This is a decent manga if you are a fan of the isekai genre but I don't think it does anything amazing or adds much that hasn't been seen before. Our mc gets reincarnated as a slave and is then bought by a very kind family. He's brought up under their loving care so that he can protect them in the future with his insane barrier(magic) skills. The mc is along for the ride and has very little agency. This might not be ... an issue for some people, but I like my mc's to have a bit more worry about what they want to do in life and not so easily accept everything w/o a second thought. I'm sure some of you just face palmed over me asking for a slave to have agency :P but they let him do almost anything and he has next to no goals or ambitions, he just goes along with anything. The family he grows up with are all nice people and he forms a fun relationship and deep bond with them. Honestly, they aren't very memorable outside of being nice and treating him well. The older daughter is the most memorable since her backstory is a bit more interesting and she's very cute. I have no issues with them and how they are presented its all just "alright". Most of what we've got so far is Slice of Life while growing up and learning magic with the family.

The manga is still in its early stages and there isn't a ton that's happened so far outside of the massive event in the newest chapters.(read past my tldr at the bottom and I'll give the tiniest spoiler about it if you are interested, it'll barely be a spoiler but some people hate even the tiniest spoilers so I'll put it at the very bottom just in case:) This is where the manga will turn and it remains to be seen where it will go in the future. I read ahead in the light novel and I can say it still follows a lot of the classic isekai tropes and situations.(I can already see the mc building his harem) The mc hasn't had a ton of development outside of figuring out what he wants to do with his life. In closing, you should read this if you like the isekai genre. It never wowed me in anyway but the quality is good, just don't expect much variety compared to what you're used to outside of the big event. The art is pretty good and I have no complaints in that department.

TLDR: Give it a go if you like Isekai, its stock standard in most regards but not offensive or lacking in quality. Its just slightly better than "fine" to where its enjoyable enough. The only real difference I'll hint at in the tiny spoiler below. (don't read if you hate spoilers, no matter how tiny)

The story takes a tragic turn in the most recent chapters and gets pretty emotional, which I really enjoyed and adds in some much needed variety. Its actually pretty depressing so if you're looking for all happy days I'd steer clear of this one, as for me I loved it and was excited to see something different from what I was expecting.

first thing first this is one of the most horrible manga i've read in a while. some maybe found this manga ok or decent but for me who like isekai manga, this is horrible.

Story
at the start of the series, the story begin with something common with other isekai manga. a guy who dead and then awake in another world. i don't really mind with this opening as other great isekai manga usually start with something really common until we get to later part when the story getting hype. but alot of other isekai manga including this one start with common plot, and did not ... getting better even after i read to 20+ chapter. in fact, it's just getting worse. the story is predictable, we can just read a few chapter and predict where are they going in 5 chapter ahead. the pacing is really fast, they don't care if it fit to the character or not. you can tell who is good and who is bad almost every single time. the plot itself is oversimplified, where the element of the story like romance and comedy feels nothing at all. it just manga that doesn't have anything different in story from other.
score 1/10.

Art
now this is the only good thing about this manga. the art is in modern style, it feels alot like style that uses in modern manga. there's nothing special in it but you can see the hard work they did in this manga. you can see in other isekai manga that use this kind of style, especially their character or creature (pet) that feels kinda similar to each other. the background however feels like need to do better, while their character drawing and design is good, the background is not supporting at all.
score 7/10.

Character
start off with the main character, there's no character development. i thing this is the main issue why this manga is not going good. it just told that he is kind, caring, and really appreciate other. there is some scene where the mc supposedly having character development but it fell off. nothing change, nothing new. the support character that should make the main character shine, is not doing their job at all. they just there, exist, without knowing their job. the conversation feels not alive, feels like nps or ai chatting with happy vibes all the time.
score 2/10.

conclusion, this manga have boring story, no proper set up, unrealistic character, no character development, no good background, and only score a decent on art, even that art is not really astounding. i won't read or touch this manga again, i know i just read for 27 chapter but enough is enough. i don't know about other but i think some people might agree with me, or maybe not.
overall 2/10.

This shit is so ass and I couldn't NOT recommend it enough.

Hear me out, the first like 8 chapters were great, we met many amazing characters and the relationships mc had with them was great.

But then, boom, they all die. Whatever, I was sad but it wasn't unexpected, it's just that what came after made the story go from an interesting one to trash. First of all, mc runs away to the forest and meets some talking fox that he befriends. Then mc goes to this neighboring country, cuz, y'know, he just killed like all the higher ups in his kingdom in a fit of ... rage.

In this new country, mc takes up his old job, except not really. Mc opens a business to protect merchants things for them or whatever, but we have NO idea how he did it, was just skipped entirely.

Then a whole lotta nothing happens, mc meets a giant fox god, the god gives him these powers because he gave her food and whatever.

The part that really put the nail in the coffin for me was the princess of the empire. Like I get it, she was starved for attention and affection from her father and put her trust in some super shady guys, but how can you be THAT naive to ever think anyone would support her stupid ideas. The knight guy by her side did not even hide the fact that he disliked her and she didn't notice.

Anyway, knight guy uses naive princess to start a rebellion or whatever. it fails cuz mc is there, and then the knight guy tries to kill princess and mc goes over to save her. Mind you, this is the same mc who is known as the demon king, the same mc who destroyed an entire castle with barrier and ice magic, and the same mc who got exponentially stronger after killing all those people.

And yet, he struggled like hell to defeat the knight and because of his refusal to kill because he wanted to save lives, the knight guy got even stronger and many innocent soldiers died as a result. then the knight steals this conveniently placed ring, eats it, becomes immune to magic and suddenly mc can do NOTHING, so what does mc do. He uses the random ass sword he had in this infinite bag and kills the knight guy.

What was the point of all that build up if mc was just gonna kill him with a sword.


In conclusion, the beginning was a solid 7/10, and as it went on, it got worse and worse until my final rating where I dropped it.
