I'm not familiar with Manhwa, but as a first time read - I have no doubts that I've chosen a fairly adequate one. The bride of the water god is a story about a girl who was sacrificed by the people of her village to the water god in exchange for rain. It sounds fairly simple, but the plot isn't all that easy to follow. There are many twists in the tale, and some of them aren't that clearly pointed out at the onset. Such as the water god's interesting, shall we say, condition.

The artistic style is, in essence, ...

Soah is a human girl who was chosen to be the bride of the water god. Scared and confused, Soah enters the Water kingdom and there she meets her husband: Habaek, an arrogant cute child. Slowly, Soah starts to enjoying her new home and she actually falls in love with a mysterious beautiful guy...
But the past of Habaek comes to haunt them. Soah has several immortal enemies too. Will she be able to live her love?
For those who enjoy a beautiful romance inside of a fantasy world, this is for you. The art is absolutely outstanding. The characters, the sceneries, the landscapes, all designed in ...

The Bride of the Water God focuses on more style than substance and the protagonist isn't very life-like. Focuses on too much conflict and political like struggles which I love, but they make it very redundant and repetitive. Not enough emphasis on the main characters and needs a theme, I enjoyed it to a degree, but it was short-lived as this manga is boring and I couldn't care about the characters. The relationship between characters in this manga is very shallow and the communication between them is very boring. The idea of a person being offered to a God isn't very original, but could have ...

The first time I heard of "The Bride of the Water God" I thought it was one of those same old boring manwha, but was I wrong! This manwha has blown me away!!

Art: The Art is outstanding and is totally beautiful! The author has a certain touch that makes the characters look alice and the scenery is gorgeous!

Story: The story is unique. Soah, the main character, is offered to the Water God because the village has been left in drought. When she gets to the water kingdom she is surprised to not see this hideous monster, but *not saying a spoiler* The story really ...

"What the-"
"Are you kidding me??"
"OH COME ON!"

Thus begins and ends my litany at the end of each chapter. Each last page leaves me writhing in the agonies and ecstasies of suspense, delivered immediate and deadpan as though it were the most natural thing in the world. It never gets old; I never tire of it. How could I? This is possibly one of the best stories I've ever read.

The characters are deep, strong, devoted, and troubled. You ache for them, you laugh with them. You understand the betrayal and the anger and the hurt. You rejoice in the love. This story, for as long ...

This manga is dreadful. Had to stop reading after 28 chapters because I was losing brain cells from reading it.

The story could have been so much more. It builds off of a mythical premise, and has a lot of potential to be an epic saga. However, the hopes and expectations were trampled by the flat, shallow character development, the dull plot, as well as the rigid and confusing composition of each frame ultimately make this manga a horrible waste of time.

Let's talk about the biggest plot twist involving Soah's lack of competence in recognizing that Mui and Haebek are one and the same person. God ...

I tried , really , I did. But this manhwa is just insolently dreadful .

Apart from the artwork , which is unique and too beautiful to stand , to be honest , so beautiful that's repetitive and boring.
But alright , let's say the artwork is the strongest point. And it's the only one , I promise.

No room for character development. Just a repetition after a repetition , a shallow inception of absurd scenes that sometimes are so fast that you don't quite get what's going on.

The way the story goes , you absolutely don't feel anything for the characters , ...

It has been so long that this manga has been on my list ever since I started noticing all the hype about it couple of years ago. And finally due to the lack of proper readings that I can get my hands on at the moment, I decided to finally give it a try. I am writing this here to inform all the people that will read this that I am certainly not a person that writes reviews but the hype about this manhwa irritated me so much that I am writing this hoping that it will help some people somehow.

Art is simply ...

Honestly, the real reason I picked this up at first was because of the artwork. I'm a huge sucker for beautiful art and this manga certainly delivers on that. It's so pretty to look at that sometimes I completely forget what I'm reading because all I do is stare at the amazing art.

The plot can be confusing and sometimes hard to follow- I often find myself going back and rereading previous chapters because I'm confused, which can get kind of tedious if you're waiting for new chapters every month. Sometimes I'll confuse certain characters with others because they seem to pop out of nowhere, ...

Out of so many romance mangas I have read, these one is the BEST. At first I thought it is a boring manga to read because the story was set on historical times, but after reading the first chaper, OH MY GOD! THESE MANGA IS WAY TOO BETTER TO READ. I CAN'T EVEN LEAVE MY PHONE FOR A SECOND WITHOUT READING THESE MANGA.

Such a brilliant author for having these manga. So, guys If you want to read historical romance which was set in historical times where Gods and humans exist and has supernatural power and very pretty characters ,then, I truely recommended it to ...

The best thing about this manhwa is definitely the art- specifically the scenery porn. I love this kind of style, and it's what made me pick up the series in the first place. It reminds me a lot of CLAMP- intricate, highly decorated, beautiful line work. It's also an immediately interesting premise. A young woman is sacrificed to the Water God in order to stave off the terrible drought that plagues her village, and then finds herself living in the world of the gods with her extremely mysterious new husband.

Unfortunately the interesting premise gets increasingly bogged down in predictable makjang plot twists, and the ...
