This manga is extremely fluffy! If you just want to feel something read this! The interactions between them are adorable! There isn't a "plot" to this manga, but I certainly squealed so much and blushed the whole time. For hopeless romantics, this manga is perfect for us!

I also love how the couple is so honest with each other that is refreshing to see them so open to each other. Compared to other mangas/animes where the couples are not honest with each other, OMG THEY ARE SO STRAIGHTFORWARD.

The characters are charming and the interaction is immacuate. Read it for the squeals.

Ima, Koi eo Shiteimasu stars high schooler Satomi, who is protected one day by a boy named Yagyuu from a molestor. She's determined to get closer to him because she missed her chance to get to know her middle school crush, and the two end up dating.

This is an incredibly superficial manga. Literally the only thing going on is the two are dating, though they and the audience know basically nothing about either of them. Yagyuu finds all these reasons to compliment Satomi anyways, which just feels extra weird to me because he can't compliment her on anything of substance. Perhaps in the author's mind ... these characters do have personalities that may come out as the manga progresses, but that doesn't fix the fact that they've already confessed their love for each other, which just comes off as ridiculous when at the moment they're basically blank slates.

Also there's really no plot to speak of. It's just, first they go to a cafe, now they're going on a beach date. And it's all ignoring the reality of things like school and the fact that they're high schoolers, which is typical for manga set in high school, but this manga takes this problem to the next level. Satomi even spends the night (and for like their third date mind you), almost completely ignoring how that'd be at least somewhat of a conflict in reality since kids have PARENTS. There's a couple of cursory panels for Satomi to ask her friend to be her alibi, and her parents still have yet to make an appearance, though Satomi must have them because why else would she need an alibi? Also despite her spending the night, the subject of actually sleeping together never comes up, nor does seem to ever even enter anyone's minds. It's just so weird, I can't even.

If you want to read about cute fluffy dating, there's surely plenty of shoujo out there that has it, and also characters with distinct personalities, and an actual story with no bizarre leaps of logic.

Ima Koi is super cute, very feel good and very fluffy. If that’s what you’re looking for, it is perfect. There isn’t a lot of drama and it is fairly predictable but I find that enjoyable, and I love the art of the story as well. Emotions are well conveyed and I love seeing the progression between the ML and FL.

This manga makes me giggle and kick my feet and I look forward to each new volume release. I love that we get a fleshed out story between some side characters as well, and I think it’s very well written and keeps me interested in ... them just as much as I am the main couple.

This series has definitely gotten better over time! It started as a very predictable yet ultra fluffy feel-good romance, which got boring, and has evolved to have the featured couples have more realistic internal struggle which makes the romance hit that sweet spot a little closer. Cookie cutter good girl Satomi becomes a much more real feeling normal person trying to be good while Miria, introduced a few volumes in, copes with a bizarre relationship needing a lot of work to make last. The art has a very fitting sweet style as well.

If you want something nice and lighthearted this is a good option for ... manga to keep in your orbit. Ima Koi rises a notch above the average highschool romance pulp that can get all-to familiar with shojou manga so it gets a "good" rating.

Finished this one last night, and found it a very chill and enjoyable read. It's a fairly lighthearted and simple romcom, but it doesn't really need to be anything more than that.

The story is mostly straightforward, and thankfully it skips a lot of the more predictable set-up that most romcoms suffer from by having the main couple get together very quickly. This isn't a "will they/won't they" type of story, and I think that only works in its favor. That said, it can feel a little formulaic at first since a lot of the earlier chapters just feel like fluff that doesn't really add much ... to the characters. Thankfully it really finds its footing in the latter half of the story when Miria is introduced, and I have to say she adds so much to the manga. She's not only a very fun character, she also adds a lot to the group dynamic of the main cast by having great chemistry with them. I have to admit that I found her romance with Tenma a lot more engaging than the main romance, though that is par for the course for me since I nearly always get more invested in the side-couple than the main one.

My only real complaint with the manga other than the slow pace in the first half is that I found the main couple to be a bit too idealistic at times, mainly because of Kazuma who is just way too perfect. Don't get me wrong, he and Satomi do make for a very cute couple together, and I didn't find him unlikable or anything, but his behavior throughout a large portion of the plot can feel almost satirical in how he always acts like an ideal boyfriend would. Thankfully this is actually addressed later in the story by having Satomi pointing out how it can actually feel a little lonely to be in a relationship with someone who never acts selfishly or makes any real mistakes, which I very much appreciated. It's handled in a pretty mature way and not as something to just be fixed with an apology, which was refreshing and added some much needed layers to their dynamic.

Overall I'd say this is absolutely worth checking out for anyone who is looking for a solid shoujo romcom. It doesn't break any new ground and is pretty light on the drama, but that's only really a negative if you need that sort of stuff in your stories. If you want a chill and wholesome story about two couples who find their way through life together this is certainly worth checking out. Just be aware that it can get a little stale before the second heroine is introduced in chapter 17, so if you don't find the manga too engaging you may want to skim through the chapters leading up to that.

Could've been a 9/10 but ended a solid 6/10 after chapter 31+. No problem with that, btw. But how did that happen?

The manga starts off insanely strong. Everything feels like a breath of fresh air. Both MCs are high school level clumsy without shoujo-brainrot disease. The drama isn't 10x exaggerated and other characters have more screentime than usual before doing something and thus infinitely more impact than in most other series about romance. It feels like actual romance with a small trope and cliché every now and then- and it works oh so beautifully.

There also is a cool twist after around ~20+ chapters- won't spoil ... too much but some side characters get time to properly develop. This has been done before, no doubt but the side characters being enjoyable makes it so much better. BUT this is also the downfall of the manga and where the author failed.

Now, why the rating? Chapter 31+32 straight out of left field BAM huge explosion, kick in your guts then your face and then a suplex finisher. That is how you feel reading chapter 31 immediately after 30 and the end of the side character's story.
There is some kind of.. introduction? (like 4 pages) to this huge massive drama. Clearly won't spoil what it is but it is the cheapest, out of nowhere, lowtier poorly written drama I have seen in a long long time. It is BAD.
"Surely won't be this bad!" No, it is. Yagyu is force-changed randomly to fit and force the drama. The drama is building on the aforementioned 4 pages. It is a sudden major problem that never came up before and warrants them both getting a wake up slap to their faces. Who are these characters? It is not the characters that were established for effing 20+ chapters.
This drama is the polar opposite to my first paragraph.

That is also why I called that twist the downfall of the manga, it is an interesting idea and went spectacular but author just forgot how his MCs behaved after 10 chapters, lmao. It also goes against the past 30 chapters of the manga as a whole- this is formulaic youtube tutorial level trashy shoujo-brainrot drama that has no place here. It is fully forced and comes with changing established characters in 2 panels. They regressed even past their starting point. It is NOT enjoyable seeing your loved characters turn into toddler-like tools.

And that's it. 2 chapters and it instantly is over and everything is back to before.. huh? What the fuck was the point. The last few chapters kinda catch the series and act as a saving grace but for me personally, the damage has been done. It really tanked the overall enjoyment and changed how I see the MCs.

I still would recommend it, sure. I honestly think that the writing took a nosedive ch31-end. Other than that it still is a really enjoyable shoujo manga.
