Synopsis

My name is Nozomu Torii, a plain introvert. Suddenly a new transfer student, Kyouko Kirishima, sits next to me. She's cute, kind, and for some reason, she proactively talks to me, even though I'm a nerd! A true saint.

Yet I want to get involved with her as little as possible because she's haunted by a "ghost" that only I can see! She's a little naughty, extremely pure and, in some cases, horrifying! Will I ever find a way to handle her? A romantic comedy about a "haunted" girl and an "unlucky" boy that gets your heart racing is about to begin!

What a wonderful series! While it is a simple romcom with a gimmick, I think it works really well! Plus, the spirit is entertaining in its own right!

I like all of the characters (except the annoying rival towards the end). Torii is a fairly simple MC, but he has just enough going on that makes him not just a complete carbon copy of the "everyman" MC. Even better, Kirishima is a great female lead that puts in effort to win Torii's heart without being overbearing and really pushes when needed. I really liked the secondary characters, especially Himenomiya (I love her design so much!!)

Another rendition of the “possessed by ghost romance" trope. I think what’s interesting about this take on it is that the ghost actively assists the male lead with his romantic pursuits.

Some may find Torii’s reluctance to intervene with the ghost early on in the story problematic. This is focused on around Chapter 21. I won’t spoil what happens, but the issue on intervening is addressed somewhat.

This manga is best appreciated by individuals who don’t think too deeply about what establishes and maintains a romantic relationship between characters (besides the obvious “love/like at first sight”). Rather, the tension of “will they or won’t they” and the ...

Right, so initially I was going to write this down as just another mediocre rom-com that I'd drop, give a 5 and then move on. But I really need to address some seriously problematic aspects of the characters in this, especially the main protagonist. I will focus EXCLUSIVELY on them here, the art is fine and the plot is a semi-lewd rom-com, you connect the dots on that. It's average on every other account.
