Picked this up at the book store on a whim expecting a standard isekai with a DND spin and that's more or less what I got. What I didn't expect was how well the author nailed the DND campaign vibes. You can tell that they are very familiar with the TTRPG genre and is aware of the tropes but instead of shying away from them, he embraces them and it sets a familiar atmosphere for anyone into DND and table top campaigns.
The story follows Geo Margilus, a former salary man by day and table top RPG enjoyer by night who find himself in the

body of his most played TTRPG character, a max level magic user in a new world not unlike the ones he had role played through before. But this world is different, tainted by the demons of the world the people find themselves at the losing side of a never ending battle. Geo quickly learns that his magic is not like the other magic in this world, his was much, much more powerful. Knowing he is possible the only one in this new world with the capacity to tip the scales in favor of humanity, Geo vows to rid the world of the demons and sets out on an epic adventure of nation building, diplomacy, and demon slaying. Good solid story. Pacing was quite well also. You feel like you get your fill of fight scenes, political talks, and the building of castle Getaeus. 8/10
While there wasn't much art, typically only having one color picture and 3-4 black and white spread throughout the volumes I really enjoyed seeing the maps of the world and Geo's character sheet. Really setting that TTRPG feel well and giving to world a larger scope. 7/10
While the cast of side characters tend to be somewhat generic and "tropey" they blend well with the personalty of Geo, who is just a normal middle aged man who has suddenly found himself to be a lot more important than he ever was in his first life. Geo as a main character is great, you get to see the progression of him learning to act as an all powerful wizard and leader. Geo is relatable in the way that he acts like how anyone would being placed in his situation. While I feel the romance devolves into a harem(not a fan), its not completely unwarranted as Geo makes himself a reliable good man. I also appreciate the characters not being overly horny for no reason. 7/10
Really glad I decided to pick this one up, Id say if your a fan of isekai and table top RPGs then this is a for sure read. I would also recommend if you like other stories with OP protagonist and nation building(Overlord).
Overall 9/10
