Sousuke Aoyama is a college student who suffers painfully from the loss of his parents in a traffic accident. He meets Kozan Shinoda, a suibokuga (India-ink painting) artist, at an exhibition. Kozan becomes interested in Sousuke and surprisingly accepts him as his disciple. However, Kozan's niece is dismissive of Sousuke and declares to compete with Sousuke for the "Kozan Award." Although Sousuke seemed uninterested in painting at first, he gradually becomes drawn to it by each stroke he draws...

This looks to be a pretty decent manga about a college lad trying out ink painting, which it was all thanks to a old man who was known to be a popular ink painter. He then meets the granddaughter of the old man in which she is considered a cold one to hang with lol. I would recommend this to Blue Period fans since there is a lot of nice art of lilies especially in this so yeah totally check this out!

Thanks Netgalley and Kodansha comics for allowing me to read volume 1 as the art here is just very pretty like who wouldn’t ...

So, I've never written a review before, but considering how few people have read this manga I feel as though I should try to help convince people to read it.

This is a fairly short manga, though I feel that it accomplishes everything it needs to. The characters have realistic personalities, and they're easy to sympathize with. I even liked the side characters I thought that I would find annoying.

The big selling point of this art manga is, well, the art. The sumi-e paintings that we are shown are all beautiful, and portray character growth just as much as the dialogue does.

Overall, I'd highly ...

Now this manga ended, I don't know how to explain it. The paintings with messages made me tear up unlike other art manga and this has a relaxing yet sad feeling because of the mc's life. You watch him grow as well and feel the same way too with his master and friends especially his rival.

The story is so relatable as well especially if you're coming with problems. It gave me a much better view of life as well.

The art in manga is also superb, not only the paintings but everything.

This manga is equals to Beauty. That's all I can say.
