Synopsis

Being acutely ill, a young girl has spent most of her life in a hospital room playing otome games to fill her time. However, she one day finds herself in the midst of a scene from one of these games as the story's villainess, Aileen Lauren Dautriche.

At the banquet to celebrate the end of the academy's winter term, the crown prince and Aileen's childhood friend, Cedric Jeanne Elmir, publicly annuls his engagement with Aileen and announces that he is in love with Lilia Rainworth, the game's female protagonist. Aware of the tragic future ahead of her and determined to change it, the young girl resolves to conquer the game's final boss, the "Demon King" and Cedric's half-brother, Claude Jeanne Elmir, by making him fall in love with her instead.

With time running out, can Irene succeed with her plans, or will she remain bound to the ill-fated ending that awaits her?

It's a nice short story with your usual villainess trope that we all know and love by now.
The story is nice, rather short for my liking, but you can read it in one sitting if you want to. As another commenter said, it's very fairy tale-esque, but I enjoyed that aspect of it.
The art is beautiful. Not exactly the height of manga art, but still, cute and serious at times, I liked it.
The characters are not necessarily unique, we've already seen those typologies over and over again, but the author manages to give their own twist and the result is a colorful (even though ...

Nice story, nice characters, nice art. It isn't long either, so it could be a good read for anyone, even if you don't like long manga. And for anyone who likes the villainess trope, this is a treat.

Although we have our usual setting of the isekaied otome player in the role of the villainess, trying to avoid the rad flags and, ultimately, her fate from the game, the turn the story takes is a little bit different, with the MC trying to get the help of the majestic, incredibily handsome, and lonely Demon King. + isekai, teen girl, awakening as the villainess of a game, conquering the villain which is also a target for the protagonist, romance, fantasy, demon king, holy maiden with a holy sword, demons, politics, aristocracy, strong and short impact due to 3 volumes, cute extra chapters at the end.
- the story is a bit rushed and some twist and turns don't get completely worked out, and I might have done with a bigger development of the romantic side of things as well.

Art 10/10
+ Beautiful design of characters, each with very distinct features. Nicely detailed as well, I particularily enjoyed the way of ... shadowing in the face, interchanged with some comic chibi's. The artwork also has a nice flow and movement, as I am always baffled how hair can be drawn as being so alive and fluffy.
- Nothing to improve here!

Characters 9/10
+ Characters have their own motivation and I absolutely love how the Demon King's feelings are linked with the weather and flowers. The way the antagonist's (or, in the game's set-up, the protagonist) character develops is quite unique as well and really gives the story a 180° turn. For the short length of 3 volumes I find most characters are going through their own developments quite splendidly, including some side characters.
- Somehow, Aileen, our protagonist waking up as a villainess, falls a bit flat: I had some trouble connecting with her motivations and how her feelings develop. Perhaps it's me, though, or again the shortness of the story. Some side characters their development is minimal - some more than others though so the more lovable ones you will still see flowering into bloom as the story evolves.

Enjoyment 10/10
+ Many moe-moments for those who like their target of the romance to be a bad-boy-who-actually-is-really-kind, the story is also quite fun even though there are plenty such isekai stories nowadays. If you can put the rushed story aside, it's a real fun read for in-between. I actually find it a good point that it's short as well, as other stories tend to milk it out a bit if you know what I mean.

Overall of 9 which is only basically due to the puzzle pieces being slammed together so you can't really enjoy the development of the death flags being overcome or the new turns and twists sprouting from overcoming those flags. Though this is only because quite a lot of happenings are crammed into 3 volumes. The extra chapters at the end make up for it though. The romance is cute and quite innocent, though it fits with the ages of our characters. This read is really a perfect go-betweener if you want a little fuzzy feeling before going to sleep or don't want to invest in (1) unfinished stories and (2) isekai romance genres milking out their twist and turns.
