Early 2020 saw the publication of the third and final volume of Tabi to Gohan to Shuumatsu Sekai, or Our Lives After the Apocalypse. These were the last few stations before the final stop of this feels train. It may have taken the direct route, but this series moved at a slow and easy pace, which was how this manga operated, a slice of life even after the apocalypse had came and left the world to move on.
It was a manga about two robot companions, a maid girl named Suoh, and an enhanced malamute named Mute, as they traversed the ruins of human civilization searching

for their master. It was like a Mad Max spin-off but fluffier. The post-apocalypse was an interesting setting for a slice of life, but that's what we had here.
The author portrayed a distant future that's grounded on modern science. Their picture of a world after humans were abandoned A.I. buildings, cloned humans, rising sea levels, and depleted fuel stocks. It's so close to home that it was scary.
The title "Tabi to Gohan to Shuumatsu Sekai" literally translated to "Journey, Rice and the End of the World" and it was appropriate. The title was a metaphor in how their journey would keep the two companions close like the stickiness of freshly cooked rice. The trip and their meals together would keep them together while the world fell apart.
This was a great story, both calm and relaxing while also emotional. It's a story of leaving a legacy in the story and in the hearts of the readers. The series has ended, but it lives on in the reader's memories.
