Mangaby TeKSMeLater

A chronological selection of the most important works of Osamu Tezuka, a timeless influential figure on the medium and one of the greatest artists of all time.

These entries are listed keeping in mind its historical relevance, their context in Tezuka's life, and their overall influence on the mangascape. I believe the following titles would help you understand more about his style, life, and contribution to Japanese media. It is not comprehensive and should be treated as a jumping point for such a colorful career.

Most of these titles are available in English.

Number of sales and date that number was acquired from in notes for each. Some of them I have personally estimated a higher figure than the date says.

No. 162 would be Nippon no Rekishi. It's for children and I can't find it on MAL. It has 24 volumes and started in 1981, and has sold 20.2 million (March 19th, 2020).

No. 165 would be Cuffs - Kizu Darake no Chizu by Jin Tojo, and has sold 20 million (February 14th, 2022).

No. 183 would be The Tale of Genji by Waki Yamato. Couldn't find exactly which one it was she made, and has sold 20 million (May 1st, 2021).

The joke here is communication about these is kinda weird unless specified that the response itself is the title.
"What's your fav manga?"
> Undecided.

Or if someone tuning in to a conversation between weebs would be extremely confused about it either by controversy or u sounding illiterate af:
> "My favourite manga is In Hand"
> "I love Children" ☠️☠️

I will also include series that are difficult to search and result in the complete opposite. eg;
Searching "Goth manga"
> The manga itself doesn't show, only images full of Misa Amane lmfao

I've put together a list of manga written by Tezuka Osamu, that was officially licensed and released in North America/English. Some publishers are still active and have copies on hand, others are defunct and out of print, etc. This is a guide to figure out what a legitimate copy would come from/hints where to look.

This list is NOT complete, I'm merely one person and have probably missed a title or two.

Certain releases like "Tomorrow the Birds" or "Shakespeare Manga Theater" are not listed due to no entry on the site/being a combination of smaller pieces of Tezuka's works. In regards to "Neo Faust" it was allegedly, been licensed by Ablaze manga. However at 3/21/24 there have been no listings or updates on the series.

If you have more information on titles available to add to this list, please shoot me a DM and I'll add it accordingly.
