Both deal with a spirited teacher going to teach and the issues that they have with their students.

A colorful character works to better the lives of the equally colorful students (read: delinquents) throughout their high school years. Hana and Yankumi are both ridiculously strong women (with a big tie to the Yakuza) who comes to a new school with a purpose (one as a class rep, other as a teacher) to let go of their previous identities and become a role model of society. Both become involved in many things from solving a student's problem to making the best school festival ever. By doing so, they shake up the whole school, changing misfit students' lives forever. But delinquents will be delinquents, (even if they quit,  read more

These mangas share ridiculous comedy, student/teacher relations, fighting and a school full of delinquents... what's not to love?

Both girls are in yakuza families where their parents are both dead and the grandfather takes the girl in.

You can’t prejudice people, no matter what they look like. Both tells about the carefree school life of delinquents, and there’s lots of school fights, humor, funny misunderstandings, strong female characters and some yakuzas. In Angel Densetsu, Seiichirou Kitano only appears to be cruel school delinquent, but in reality he has a good heart. Story repeats itself in Gokusen, where math teacher Kumiko Yamaguchi beliefs in her ”cute little students”, although everyone else thinks they are hopeless. Luckily Yamaguchi has a secret weapon: she's from yakuza family. Angel Densetsu’s problem is drawing style, which gets better later on. But Angel Densetsu is definitely funnier! Angel  read more

These share a school environment, yakuza, slow developing romance and a female lead that is somewhat oblivious to love. Each is a long read that is definitely worth the effort.

they both have teachers who have a secret identity connected to the criminal world gokusen has a mafia princess and hammer session has a fugitive conman. both the teachers go through their students one by one to fix the child's' problem through unorthodox means.

A teacher helping troubled students out. Even tho their methods are different, the feel I get from the both are similar. The teachers are outstanding in one thing, fighting or is a genious.

The one shot included in this manga, which is, Kyuukyoku Kareshi ni Yamitsuki Kanojo, is similar to Gokusen because it both involves a gang or mafia person who is the heir or has the mafia blood in them. Incidentally, they both fall in love with a person but tries to keep their family a secret.

Gangster teacher helping his/her students and risking his life for them. -Both series contain fights and kidnapping -The students in Gokusen are high schooler and in Mr. Kown they are elementary school kids The art in both is not very great but not bad either.

Both manga have a teacher main character in charge of delinquent students that other teachers have given up on. The start of Gokusen is a little bit episodic where it would deal with reforming a student and the student finally accepting the teacher. Both have elements of comedy but Gokusen does have romance. It's not very in your face though and it only starts actually happening at the very end.

If you enjoyed the teaching aspect and slice of life subtleties in Get Schooled you will most definitely enjoy Gokusen. This manga is far more cozy and laid back, but doesn't shy away from some fun action moments. I highly recommend this series to the more casual reader who just wants some light hearded fun in an unusual teaching setting

Funny/romantic mangas with lots (and lots) of character development. Both are josei.
reportRecommended by tlne
Both have elements of romance w a power couple and both female leads are affiliated with a gang.

Both manga are mix of comedy, action and romance. In Gokusen is yakuza family, and in Yozakura is spy family.

Mix of action and comedy with similar tone. In both manga, the main characters lead a double life, doing ordinary jobs and hiding their true identity (in Spy x family more than Gokusen) due to their connections with the underworld. In Gokusen we have yakuza, Spy x family we have spies and assassins. In bothe the female leader is strong and very good at fighting. In both mang family thread is important, but presented slightly differently. In both manga takes place subtle but important romantic subplot.

Replace Korea with japan, and male martial-arts genius turned teacher, to female Yakuza-princess turned teacher and you'll have an idea why these too stories are similar. Gokusen is much more light hearted and funny slice-of-life-ish, while The Breaker gets rather epic and dark near the end, but both have that great badass-teacher dynamic.

Both has a charismatic teacher as protagonist, who knows very well how difficult could be a student's life, not to mention, that for them even a deliquent is a precious kid...

Obaka-chan is definitely shoujo while Gokusen is a bit more of josei. However these two mangas still share some similarities. Both are set around a class of delinquents/misfits that are looked down on by others. Both mangas follow oblivious female characters through a lot of humor, violence, and awkward romance.
reportRecommended by restivesilence
They mangas each have delinquent high school students (who aren't that bad underneath it all) going around and getting into trouble. The art style in both is simple and the dialogue funny. These mangas are hilarious and if you like one, you will definitely like the other.
reportRecommended by restivesilence
These are pretty dissimilar in most ways, but if you are looking for that gangster/kick ass element you will definitely find this in both of these.

Both wonderful Josei works with a similar sense of romance. Although both do not focus on love (more on their careers really), they are still hilarious reads and amazingly well-done.

Gokusen and Sukeban Deka both deal with delinquents, although they are from completely different decades and have very different themes. If you liked Gokusen, you should check out Sukeban Deka which was one of the big three manga that started the sukeban craze in the 80s.

Both are josei manga with a very strong female lead who is in love with someone older than her. She has a side that she can't show him. There is also a guy that's younger than her, and she depends on him and vents her problems to him quite a bit. The younger guy falls in love with her, although she is extremely oblivious.

In Gokusen we have a female lead who is the head daughter of a mafia/yakuza family who decides to become a teacher, while in Jesus we have a male lead who is an assassin who goes undercover as a teacher. So if you like Jesus or GTO give Gokusen a try. It is a josei so it is less violent than Jesus but very funny.

Comedic Action Romances with Friendly Neighborhood Yakuza who follow their dreams in the civilian world, giving up the gangster way of life for their humorously mundane jobs which are their passions.
reportRecommended by noirgrimoir
Both mangas have main characters which represent uncommon women who wants to be teachers. They becomes teachers for trouble classes know other teachers can handel. They work with the students and help them in and outside school.
