The story is pretty interesting. The protag, Spear hero is pursuing his love Firo/Filo. He is searching for a way to hatch her, and meet her while also trying to to reset time again. He was once betrayed as the premise states so he views all women not related to Filo as pigs. He always befriends Naofumi ever loop as his implied stepfather. This story is mixed with some serious elements too like conflicts found in the original shield hero. The mc is a master in raising Filo`s species so there are plenty of cute angels to be seen ... in this manga. Spear Hero, is a pretty awsome and funny dad to them.

The art is pretty solid. The character designs are excellent, and towns are often distinct places which is a plus.

The characters are the same as they were in the og Shield Hero. Naofumi acts a lot more chill since Spear Hero befriends him everytime to not be a complete outcast. Side characters get to shine a lot in this series.

I absolutely loved this manga! The characters are very lovable. Spear Hero and Shield Hero teaming up is pretty wholesome, and they make a awsome duo. I reccommend this manga to anyone who likes the og Shield Hero, or if you like hilarious stories in general about adventuring, and pursuing your passion!

This story is not supposed to be epic or anything like that, this is a comedy, and since I laughed nonstop the entire read, I can say this manga fulfilled it's mission perfectly. It has a lot of spoilers for anime-only fans, which includes me, but I regret nothing, I always kinda liked Motoyasu, he is the type of character that it's so obvious that they are going to get a redemption arc, so I couldn't hate him knowing this, and he is really cute, especially in this spin-off. He may even be my favorite character now, and I hope people will love him too ... after reading it! I'm so tired of seeing people hating on him all the time when he isn't even a bad guy, just slow and weak to woman.

Anyways, I give this spin-off a rating between 9 and 10, because it changed my view on the character, made me laugh, the story was interesting and adorable, and the characters are great like in the anime, even tho I don't know some of them because I don't read the original manga or the light novel(yet). So if you want to laugh, I 100% recommend you to read this hilarious spin-off, because you are going to have fun! Or, not, I don't know, everyone have different taste and sense of humor, but at least try reading the fist chapter and see if you like it. Oh, and about the art, I think it's pretty good, the way the characters are drawn is really cute.

This manga is a spin-off of the parent story Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, focusing instead on the adventures of the spear hero which occurs at some point in the main story. As such, this story to a certain extent requires some prior knowledge on the parent story otherwise it could be a confusing mess. Whilst the manga does try to explain things to the reader in case they have never read the parent story, the experience fall short without prior knowledge.

As this is a spin-off of a future event in the parent story (Or at least it's in the Webnovel version of the ... parent story; and since the Light Novel version and Webnovel version diverge from the Cal Mira island arc I do not know how this Spin-off will fit in), it may potentially spoil some events of the parent story. Whilst the effect is minor, it may be better to read this manga after finishing the parent story.

The story of this spin-off itself isn't spectacular. It follows the spear hero Motoyasu Kitamura, who has gained the ability to turn back time with a special spear and returns to the beginning of their adventure. Him, knowing the future events takes action to change the future. However, due to the events of the events of the parent story Motoyasu has become a broken man, slightly psychologically unstable in a sense, something this manga doesn't portray well enough. As such, his memories are a little messed up (also due to the time travelling, as shown in the manga). As a result he doesn't take the best course of action or find solutions to problems using wisdom and knowledge of the future like other time-travelling/new game/restart stories like Re:Zero, All You Need Is Kill, Steins;Gate etc. Instead he acts very spontaneously like a madman, which may annoy many readers. In the Webnovel, him acting like a madman was actually fun to see to a certain extent, something this manga failed to replicate. Motoyasu also kept his abilities from the future, making him stronger than most people in this manga. However the way the manga shows his power is not satisfying enough. Though understandably, Motoyasu does not care about his powers at this point due to him becoming mad. As you read the manga you start to understand more about the conditions and the situation he is in, such as why he is back in time, the conditions of the reset etc.

The art is alright, but not better than the parent story. As for character development there is next to none and would require the reader to already have sufficient knowledge on the characters (The manga only explains the bare minimum about these characters). Whilst not an exceptional spin-off it is still something fans of the original series would enjoy.
