Synopsis

Tetsuo Tosu, an ordinary salaryman, discovers his daughter, Reika, has been physically abused by her boyfriend, Nobuto Matori. Trying to learn more about him, Tetsuo uncovers Matori's scheme to extort money from Reika's wealthy grandparents and finds out that he is a member of a crime syndicate, with a history of murdering his former girlfriends.

Filled with rage and fear at the thought of Reika being in danger, Tetsuo ends up killing Nobuto, and with the help of his wife, Kasen, successfully disposes of the body. Now, as the members of the syndicate begin to question Nobuto's sudden disappearance, Tetsuo and Kasen must work together to ensure the safety of their daughter and prevent her from getting involved in the predicament any further.

This is my first review. I just feel like voicing my feelings about this series, as it is the longest manga I've read through and kept my interest throughout the whole runtime. Every week I was checking for a new chapter, as the suspense for where the strory would go kept me on edge. Today as I saw that the final chapter was out, I was filled with a mix of excitement and sadness, looking forward to it's conclusion, yet finishing something I had spend so much time and thought on. And now that it's done, I must say it has been worth it.

It might be early to make this review, seeing as there are only 17 chapters out at the moment. But, man this shit is good. The story manages to follow both the stream of consciousness of a character and the actions that take place wonderfully. I find that the writer has a great sense of showing the audience certain things and then doing a full 360. I would say the only critique I have is that you barely see the psychological effects of the actions the character have on themselves, I mean, there is a scene with a dream but that's about it. Starts out as a great thriller/mystery, with realistic characters and great pacing. Comparable to a 'Death Note'/'Cat and Mouse' type of vibe between multiple characters.

But somewhere along the road (literally speaking as well), it falls off significantly as the author keeps introducing more characters and subplots. The story continues to 'escalate' (higher stakes technically - but less interesting and more generic), but pacing slows significantly and the rapid fire 'panic moments' at the beginning are replaced with longer, drawn out interactions and events.
