When it comes to love, we always wonder if someone that someday will become our boyfriend/girlfriend is suit our type. but as things continue, we realize that love isn't always created because the person we love is our type at all. this manga tells how a relationship can exist despite the person we love isn't our ideal type, and soon realize that love is something more complex than just suiting our type.

Story
The plot itself is really simple, about a young girl who loves her senpai from basketball club and then she realizes that her best friend also falls in love with him. to protect their ... current relationship, she decided to give up and let her best friend date her beloved senpai, therefore she asks her classmate Kaede pretend to be her boyfriend and soon she realized that she has fallen in love with Kaede, a guy that isn't her ideal type at all.
I love the story, it is a heartwarming story with less drama that will make you smile every time you slide the pages.

Art
The art is excellent that will make you even more comfortable when reading this manga.

Character
This is the aspect I like the most. the character isn't cliche and the pairings are unique. the FL is cute and isn't dumb and the ML is calm yet sweet to her. side characters are interesting and none of them I can hate. they are very likable.

Enjoyment
I'm happy to find this manga and read it. it's enjoyable and wholesome that can make your day even happier.

Overall, I do love this manga. if you're looking for a manga with non-cliche plots and characters. a heartwarming and wholesome story without unnecessary drama. then, this manga is for you.

Story 9/10
So the story is very entertaining. It follows the main character whose ideal is basically your typical tsundere, "perfect" shoujo manga love interest. She falls for her senpai who fits that ideal but later discovers that her best friend seems to also be intrested in him. She backs away and tell her best friend that she is dating the somewhat emotionless, dense yet kind guy in her class. The reason it is so good is because you get to ... see the relationship between the two progress and their interactions are adorable considering he knows nothing about love and she is someone who falls in love easily. You cannot help but ship the two main leads.

Art 9/10
Its your typical shoujo manga art style, good but nothing special. You can't dislike it since its very pleasant.

Characters 10/10
Not many characters have been introduced so far but I can't help but like all of them. Yusa is kind, she is considerate and quick to fall in love. But she isn't annoying, she isn't pathetic and always in need of help nor is she a cold hearted character. Nana, her friend is someone I'd consider a good friend. She didn't want to hurt Yusa so she hid her feelings. Its also nice how she cares for Yusa. There isn't much character development when is comes to Nana but you can't help but like her. Haruka is my favourite character. He's kind of dense but not to the point where it's annoying. He's sweet and wants to understand love. He is an adorable character that you just can't help but love. Tani is Haruka's best friend. He's sweet and trying to help Yusa, He is a very loveable character, He's outgoing, loud, and kind.

Its pretty good but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a 10/10. Keep in mind I've only read 4.5 chapters as of now.

To be honest, I really wish I could rate this manga volume by volume and not as a whole because I really enjoyed the first half.

I initially had fun reading Risouteki Boyfriend. The art style is palatable enough and the story laced with perfect comedic timing is a delight to read. The characters were kind of stereotypical but they're fine, it wasn't like I was looking for something deep. But then the story dragged, and dragged, and dragged.

The truth is, this could've been great with 1-3 volumes but then the author keeps adding new characters and subplots I went from slightly irked to ... downright disappointed (and fully annoyed). I initially thought of rating this one 8 stars as I was first reading but then I started docking points as the plot dragged on so it ended with an average (which is kind of fair since the story nor characters isn't particularly unique anyway). All in all, this did NOT need 29 chapters.
